the c. martin deck looks like the rails taper towards the tail. the new era looks like a nice shape though.

The Cameron Martin doesn't have parallel rails, but it doesn't matter. Essentially, the 'New Era' is the old Outlook Flatland deck - pretty much a popsicle with blunt ends; what we call a 'hybrid board'.
The Cameron Martin deck is similar to Mullen's Dog Food model, or these days Guenter's 'Spider Demon' board or Tim Morris' board (his second model on Decomposed with the snake)

Callum, do you know anything about the Harward from them? I'm about to order it but having second thoughts.

I've skated the C. Martin way back when and never had trouble with the rails even if they aren't parallel. Personally I liked the board but wouldn't skate it again, too wide for my liking now but I felt it was a good transition board and all around good for most tricks.
Jay, personally I didn't like the Harward. Too short for my liking and I didn't like the size of the nose and tail. 6" just seemed like to big of a tail for a board that small and I feel that it would be better if maybe a quarter of an inch could be taken off the tail and added to the nose.

Yeah, I guess I'll see myself b/c I ordered it. I go through boards fast, and now that I'm working full time again, if I hate it then it's no big deal to get a new board.
The "classic" from small school has pretty similar dimensions, and the thing I've been missing about double kicks is the rigidity that comes from them being concaved, so hopefully I'll like it.
Either way, I'm going to Jeremy for the deck after this one.

Good to hear it.
Anyway, I personally liked the harward when I had it (I personally had the ECS from eastcoast, but it's the same board with a different graphic). The tail was very long,
but because it was so steep it kind of had a compramise. It's certainly a very good board for truck transfers and technical tricks.
