I'm checking out a used Powell this weekend w/Venture trucks for $25.00 (I'll offer him $20.00 with the old AtM gag). It's off a guy via Craigslist and he's not sure of the wheel or bearing brands. He said he got it off his cousin and skated when he was "younger", although he sounds to be in the ripe old age of 17.

I'm assuming that this board is an ''old school'' deck correct? Powell were a big hit with me in the 90's, they were quality material

I guess, it's just a brand I hadn't heard a lot about. Here's the link (complete with bad grip-tape art) ...

Nono, thats new school, my fault!
Its Powell's ''minilogo'' brand! They aren't bad, and are super slick on the bottoms (they use a formula on them to make them slicker then normal boards, they even come with a ''warning sticker'' on them new, lol).
We sell them at the park. They are a high seller, not because of their quality, but because their relatively cheap. I believe you can buy a blank deck for $30 man NEW!

Ventures aren't bad either, and those wheels have some mileage.

All-n-all, I give the value of a board at around $20 or so. Kinda suck they ruined the griptape, but meh, beggers can't be choosers ya know, lol!

Ok, thanks! Do you think that's a mini-sized board? Shawn broke his mini-Flip, so this may work out. It's always hard to tell from pictures.

Ok. I mean, if it's crap, I'll just take the money I was going to spend and get him new skate shoes.

What about his board? You know you could get mini blanks for quite a cheap price. As Pathtek4 said, for $30 you could get a new one. I suggest you do that (seeing that your son broke his mini flip), and transfer the hardware, trucks, wheels, bearings onto your new deck.

This is what I gathered from reading your posts >_>

Yeah, here's the deal on that:

We buy all our new decks, trucks, wheels and bearings from the tragically hip Coliseum Skateboard Superstore (www.coliseumskate.com) right down the street. On his 12th birthday, they happened to have exactly one mini deck in stock (the now-dead Flip I mentioned earlier) and it broke about 2 months ago. I haven't seen a new mini in the store for some time now and I'd rather not order one on-line because he's fine on a regular sized setup. I just thought the Powell we're looking at tomorrow may be a mini, which would be nice, but not really needed. It's always hard to tell the condition of the craigslist stuff because it's just pictures. The fun of Coliseum is laying down $150 and Frankenstiening a new monster complete. It's alive!!!!

I'll have to give a report on the Powell Saturday night. I've got my Saturday gig until 2:00, then a much-needed haircut, pick up my Father's day gift (at least I'll know it'll fit), go to Gamestop, check out the deck, pick up Sara, maybe swim at my mothers house, order dinner, go food shopping, then crash.

Yeah, I'll check it out tomorrow afternoon. I really wanted that Blind set up from Billerica, but I won't be heading up that way any time soon. This guy is from the next town over.

Hopefully people are taking the "Mini-logo" name seriously. It's probably not a mini. That's just the name, haha. I usually skate mini-logos since I can't afford name-brand stuff, but they're great decks.

I got it for $20.00. Looks like Spitfire wheels and some kind of red-colored bearings. It's a nice set up, even for the hardware alone.
