have you ever tried a trick off of something (stairs, ledge, etc.) without ever landing it on flatground? or is it better to land the trick you want to do on flat before attempting it off something?

View Full Version : just a question heartagram695 06-13-2008, 04:24 PM have you ever tried a trick off of something (stairs, ledge, etc.) without ever landing it on flatground? or is it better to land the trick you want to do on flat before attempting it off something? oib111 06-13-2008, 05:21 PM I guess for me, I would probably try a heelflip off a ledge even though I can't do it on flatground. But I would only do it so I could have more air time and get my feet on. cha-BANG 06-13-2008, 05:34 PM right. i guess it depends. i always did tre's off this tiny (like 3 inch) ledge to help get the rotation when i was learning them :) what trick are you asking about ( if you have one in mind ) ? GNAR 06-13-2008, 05:46 PM Yeah. I can't ever fully rotate a bigflip on flat, but I can get them easier off my local 7. Minihub 06-13-2008, 05:47 PM Grabs anyway for sure, and maybe flips but only if its the catch thats bugginh you. heartagram695 06-13-2008, 06:52 PM yea i was talking about tricks like a varial heel or a 360 flip. because i can get the rotation of both on flat i just have trouble getting both feet on and rolling away. so i figured if maybe i tried it off something i might have more luck. havent tried it yet. i just wanted to see if it was a good idea. another question i have is maybe what trick i should get next off of something. i have kickflips and pop shuvits really good off stuff i was just wondering what to try next. cha-BANG 06-13-2008, 07:50 PM well, when you're learning something, and you decide to take it off something first to help with the rotation and all, you shouldn't do anything too big. maybe not even a set, just a ledge, i think they're the most helpful. even just a curb can get you the extra push to get that rotation on tougher tricks to learn. just a tip ;) heartagram695 06-13-2008, 09:39 PM well, when you're learning something, and you decide to take it off something first to help with the rotation and all, you shouldn't do anything too big. maybe not even a set, just a ledge, i think they're the most helpful. even just a curb can get you the extra push to get that rotation on tougher tricks to learn. just a tip ;) haha thanks. i was only talking about like a small ledge anyway. im not gonna go try to 360 flip a 20 stair anytime soon :icon_drib 505088K 06-18-2008, 08:29 AM I tried a bs 360 off a ledge a week ago. that trick is much easier then. |
