Well, which one do you like better? I like iPod because they're better for skating and are comfortable. Now you choose.

iPods have a much more streamlined interface that doesn't feel clunky.
For that reason alone, I would choose it over zune..

But there are many more reasons.

That's another reason I would also prefer iPods.. and because they're easier to navigate, and you get the hang of it in like 5 seconds.

I vote iPods cause my zune is a pos for real. It freezes, it turns on and off by its self, can't play some of my songs (says it has an error or something). I only like the interface on it, syncs faster, and being able to change the background.

iPods Ive had my iPod for about a year and so far no problems with it at all! Its louder, the click wheel is better then the one on the zune, better and more EQ settings, and more features! Why look up at the clock where I can just pull out my iPod and see it.

Well my freind has a Zune and he loves it more than his ipod. Its probably because the new Zune looks better than the ipod and it has better storage than the ipod.

ZUNE!!!!!!

1. WAYYYY Better for skating....if it somehow falls the headphone jack holds on to the headphones so if you're tall enough it wont even hit the ground.
2. if it does hit the ground, its way more durable than an ipod
3. since the screen is glass and not the crappy plastic the ipod uses, it doesnt scratch easily.
4. wireless sync so when your annoying sister is on the pc you can still put that cd you just got on your zune
5. doesn't randomly fail...like ipods do...every person i know that has an ipod has went through like 3 and they all randomly broke..i know 2 ppl right now that have to put their headphones halfway in the jack for sound to come on left and right
6. way more sexy
7. wifi trading, so if you and your friends trade in the crappy ipods and get zunes you can listen to their songs basically whenever
8. charges faster
9. larger screen
10. headphones that come with it are better quality than apple's (although alot of people use different ones, its still a plus)
11. more supported video formats
12. software monitors your media folders so whenever you put something there it automatically adds it to the software
13. you can connect it to your 360 if you have one and listen to it
14. zune pad is way more smooth and comfortable than the crappy scroll wheel of apple
15. zune pass 14.99 unlimited downloads, if you like paying for your music
16. although its larger, its lighter...the largeness is only because of the massive screen on it.
17. user made games, pokemon is in development for the nintendo freaks ha
18. free laser engraving with pictures instead of apple's text only... www.zuneoriginals.net
19. larger resolution video out so your ripped dvd's actually look like dvd's instead of crappy pixelated youtube quality vids.
20. choice of auto down-sampling for your tunes so that you can fit more music
21. background changing
22. need more??

I'm a Mac guy, and I've had zero complaints with two iPods. I've never used a Zune nor have I seen what it can do, but generally speaking I imagine it's just about the same. I don't skate with my iPod, that's not my thing.

If I were going to pay a certain amount a month for music I wouldn't physically own, I'd just go with satellite radio.

1. How is the zune which is nothing but a large brick in your pocket instead of something as thick as a empty wallet?

2. My iPod has bee dropped way more times then my zune, no problems but my zune face plate almost came off of it.

3. Glass is prone to break like you can snap a toothpick in half. Id rather deal with a scratched screen then a broken one.

5. How can something randomly fall? Its not like a ghost pushed it off a surface.

6. Yeah something bigger then a deck of cards is more sexy then something smooth, slick, and shiny.

7. Shared music on the zune can only be listened to 3 times before you have to send it to them again. Thats real stupid!

8. Nope iPods charge faster then the Zune. I had a dead iPod and a half way charged zune, hooked them both up to my computer and the iPod charged faster by almost an hour and a half faster then my zune. Plus iPods batteries last longer then the zune.

13. You can hook up your iPod to a Plastation 3 and play items from the iPod.

14. The scroll wheel is better to me, I don't have to keep sliding my finger down to get to an artist, just smooth non-stop circles.

17. iPod has more games and certain games for iPod types such as Guitar Hero for the touch.

19. It depends on where you get the video, their the same pixel rate on both. CKY2K looked the same on both.

I personally prefer my iPod over the Zune. To the guy that said that you can play the Zune on your 360, I can play my nano or any other iPod on my 360 too. Also, the iPod has a more user friendly interface than the Zune, and its a better all around product in my opinion.

1. How is the zune which is nothing but a large brick in your pocket instead of something as thick as a empty wallet?

Because the zune is only .15" taller and 0.07" thicker....which is not that much but makes up for it with the larger screen

2. My iPod has bee dropped way more times then my zune, no problems but my zune face plate almost came off of it.

never heard that before....

3. Glass is prone to break like you can snap a toothpick in half. Id rather deal with a scratched screen then a broken one.

its near impossible to break because its flat...try laying a piece of glass on concrete and breaking it with your hand....and i've seen numerous broken ipod screens

5. How can something randomly fall? Its not like a ghost pushed it off a surface.

Not randomly FALL but randomly FAIL.
6. Yeah something bigger then a deck of cards is more sexy then something smooth, slick, and shiny.

right because everyone knows a cups are better than double d's

7. Shared music on the zune can only be listened to 3 times before you have to send it to them again. Thats real stupid!

WRONG!! there is a fix for that

8. Nope iPods charge faster then the Zune. I had a dead iPod and a half way charged zune, hooked them both up to my computer and the iPod charged faster by almost an hour and a half faster then my zune. Plus iPods batteries last longer then the zune.

nope...http://www.zune.net/en-us/products/zune80gb/specs.htm and http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/specs.html
zune full charge 3 hrs ipod 4....but it does last 1 hour longer watching video....but same time with audio
13. You can hook up your iPod to a Plastation 3 and play items from the iPod.

ok, so a tie in that area

14. The scroll wheel is better to me, I don't have to keep sliding my finger down to get to an artist, just smooth non-stop circles.

ok well you have your opinion

17. iPod has more games and certain games for iPod types such as Guitar Hero for the touch.

the touch shouldnt be compared to the zune, as they are totally different....a more reasonable comparison is the zune 80gb with the ipod classic 80gb

19. It depends on where you get the video, their the same pixel rate on both. CKY2K looked the same on both.

pixel rate is same when watching on device screen, but the zune outputs at 720x576 (dvd quality) via video out where as the ipod only has 640x480

thats my 2 cents

how is it more user friendly?? if you are looking at the contents of some album but you wanna go to your playlists you have to hit menu to get to the artists, hit menu again to get to the music choices, then go to playlist....on a zune you simply back out of the album to the artists, then hit right 1 time and you're there...

and the zune is made out of higher quality products, except the harddrive because they are the same

I like iPods more even if they do randomly fail (i had to operate on mine to manually change its battery cause it died lol)

but really i prefer small mp3s where you just copy and paste the songs you want onto and you dont have to bother to sync it, and you just turn it on and let it play, i'm so indecisive that i always spend hours scrolling through my ipod menu choosing what to listen to and i get sick of it. they're good for long journeys though

its kinda hard to choose but i would go for the iPod. the zune freezes up with some songs. although the zune has some features like the background changes, i just wanna listen to my music. i hav the 2nd generation iPod nano an i also like how its so small compared to the zune

Not really its cause iPods are just better, the Zune copies it in some many ways its not even funny, but thats Microsoft for you they'll make anything just to make money. The new update for the zune just makes it more of an iPod clone.

Yep. Took the words outta my mouth, they might have changed them by now but back in 4th gen 3 of my friends got broken hard drives on their ipods, mine broke twice, once under warranty, second time left it collecting dust. Tried my luck with a shuffle, less than a year later it crapped out. Sometimes fixable but in less than a week the flashing lights return. Tell me, how can something with such simple software fail? And keep failing even after you've reformatted? After this I vowed never to buy apple again!!

Never used a zune but I'm honestly fed up of ipods. Everyone and their mother has one, they are waaay too trendy. Like naive said, simple is best- small capacity, drag n drop, change songs every week, if it breaks no problem - get a new one.

iPods. Like someone else said, they are so easy to navigate.

Skaterbabe15

Yea they are easy to navigate, but geissler has a point.

like yea i am one to have a few ipods at the moment, but they are fairly annoying having to re-sync your music every time you want to change your music. although i can download music on my ipod, it still gets annoying having to pay the money, when i could just go to limewire and get it for free. Plus the hook up can break so easily. i went through 2 ipods with this problem, and ended up getting 20% off of a ipod nano. its a bit ridiculous.

i still love my ipods, but they can get annoying, for sure.

I have an ipod nano 1st gen and ipod touch 2nd gen. I've actually had a lot of bad luck with ipods, but I really just prefer the interface. The nano is for skating and the touch is for anything else. I can't really judge the zune too much because my experience with it is limited.

iPod.

Never had a problem with mine. So I'm happy. Zune's freeze up too much for me and are too bulky. Plus the iPod has more, whats the word, conveniences? Like the iHome clocks, which are great, and many radios you can get for your car come with plugs on them that will charge your iPod and play them through the stereo of the car. They are just great for me, so that makes it better for me.

I do like Zune headphones better though. Worse sound, but the connecting magnets make keeping them untangled simple and easy.

iPod for me even though i don't own one yet. Every creativei've had has been fiddly and the software is actually terrible. Also every Creative ive everhad has broken or been stolen after a year or so. I take this as bad luck and an omen notto get another lol.

iPods are just so much easier to use and every time i use my bros or a friends i fall in love with them again.

However i hate the fact that you can't take music of an ipod without iDump and also the fact that they are such big market leaders but hey what you gonna do it deserves to be.

I don't know if you were implying it, but Creative doesn't make the Zune. And you can take music off a Zune with the included software..The only thing it lacks in differences between the iPod is the Store/Marketplace (who uses those nowadays anyway, lol) and the accessories. Zunes are much better from my experience you should try one out.

Two words, device updates. When Microsoft puts out an update you get more features on the device, say MS puts out a new feature for the Zune. I can go download it. Apple puts out a new feature, user is require to get a new ipod. Wireless is freaking cherry, and Zunes are tanks. Had an Ipod and it broke within a few weeks. I dropped my Zune down a 20 set and it went on pause because the headphones came out of it. Sound quality on the Zune > Ipod. Zune software is 100 times better that Itunes crap, and now Microsoft offers a keep ten songs per month feature where you get burn rights to ten songs with the zune pass and they didn't change the price it's still 14.99. that is a good deal to me. which would you rather pay 15 dollars for unlimited songs a month and ten free songs, I currently have over 5000 songs I can listen to for 15 bucks Legally, or have to pay for them all ($5000), or risk having the FDA at your doorstep?

I don't think these things are overrated, they're just overpriced...I just got myself an ipod touch for about $125, I got lucky, but with all the other mp3's that'll do the job I would have probably bought something else.

If you're going to invest money in an mp3 player, why not invest money in the headphones...in the end you'll spend less time going through the fancy GUI's and more time listening

Makes sense to me...

You must do drugs to come to that the EQ on zunes suck, they call that bass boost? I can set an iPod's bass boost to half way and it will be a million times better then the zune with bass boost with the volume all the way up. But the updates they add something stupid and get rid of something great. Why did an update take away the option to make a playlist? But if your going by headphones that come with it yeah zune headphones are better then iPod's but when you already have top of the line like the Sony MDR-NC7 or the MDR-V150 then iPod takes the better sound record.

Really I think its impossible to make a playlist on the zune now. I made one on my computer and put it on my zune but heres the key part there is NO PLAYLIST on the zune. They took it off for some gay "Now Playing" in its place. Why would I care about whats playing couldn't I just look at the screen to see whats playing and see the song list for the songs that are about to be played? Another thing is when you add stuff to Now Playing it doesn't play the songs in shuffle it goes in order. I don't want to sit through over 400 Dir en Grey songs to get to a new band on the Now Playing.

i've had both and my ipods have all been way better. the only ipod that i've broken was my nano but that's because i left it in the washing machine... twice. And the ipod itself didn't even break, just the battery. My zune, dropped it maybe 3 feet off the ground and the screen shattered into a bazillion pieces. The only thing that's better about the zune is the zune software, that **** is sexy. Also, the itouch is possibly the best thing ever made by human hands.

I've got a 120gb Zune. I love it.
I've never used a better mp3 player.
The screen is huge and is really clear.
I really like the UI.
The Zune software is epic. I hate iTunes.
It's really quick syncing to your Zune. Took me about 3 minutes to sync 3000 songs.
The wireless is boss. Really good for playing games multiplayer if you want. And discovering new music from your friends. I've spent many a class hours playing checkers with my friend.
Of course that's not why I got it, but it's something to do when you're bored.
Great for watching videos on.
Battery life is pretty decent. I charge mine once every 3 days.
And I listen to it a lot. Every class in school. Probably a total of 3-5 hours a day.
I just really love it.
And it was a decent price for such an awesome player and the huge hd size.
And sound quality is amazing.

The new version of the Zune the 2nd gen has no eq thy jut improved the sound quality far past an ipod and they didn't take away the playlists you must have not sinked yours,I have at least 10 on my Zune, Hardware wise the Zune 2 is better than any ipod of equal value, they only thing Ipods have over Zunes is hype and market precendence, Microsoft is in the works of a Zune touch that will blow the doors off the ipod touch, go look it up, They teamed up with a japanese company that produces a touch screen that work from the back, and the playlist does shuffle, yoou hit the center button and turn shuffle on.

This arguement will never end though, it is mainly about preference. iPods are for the people that care about how good their **** looks and whether or not they fit in with everyone else, Zunes are for people that want dependability and quality, and trust me with Microsoft's 80G and 120G the quality is epic, the new lcd screens put out in high def., and Zunes are definately more heavy duty.

I have 2 Zunes a 30gb and an 80 gb and 2 iPods both 80 gbs and for me iPod is far better. When I put the playlist on my zunes they don't show up and in Now Playing I hit the center button even hold it and it doesn't shuffle at all. But I dropped my iPod many times on concreate, in puddles, even stepped on it countless times and then I dropped my 80 Zune once from about 4 feet and broke the screen. Now I have 2 busted up zunes that Im not going to send to get fixed or go out and buy another one when my iPods I swear I could run over with my car and bet it'll still work like new.

As for sound I'll take the Pepsi challange again anyday of the week. I took my 30 and 80 zune with my MDR-V150, turned it all the way up to Gucci Mane the bass sucked even with the EQ on the 30 to max bass. I then took my iPod put on the bass boost all the way up and turned the volume all the way up. There was so much bass going into my ears it made my eyes water and I could feel the bass in my teeth. Plus the bass didn't distort or muffle the vocals at all. With the Zunes I could still hear people at work talking and MDR-V150s are studio headphones. With the iPod I couldn't even hear myself thinking. With my MDR-NC7s even with the volume all the way up and with the noise canceling turned on I could still hear people talking beside me, iPod theres nothing I could hear other then the music.

It doesn't matter how great the zune touch will be people will keep buying iPods not for the reasons you listed its just cause people like them more. Zunes are like bricks their a whole lot thicker but if Im getting something with touch its going to be the new Walkman which is going to pwn them BOTH!

I got iPod Nano 4g 8gb.
It's pretty neat.
Light-weight, slick design, easy to navigate, **** itunes..
I wouldn't buy iPod Touch tho.
too big when i skate.

I'd break it.

I've dropped my nano way too many times.. compared to how long i've had it.
Still works like a charm
Except the screen is a little scraped up..
Guitar pic w/ grip + iPod + pocket = fail.

Why do you have two 80gb ipods?

I bought one then a few years later my girl gave me her old one since she got the 160 GB model. Why does anyone need over 80, 60 really!

I had an Ipod nano 2nd generation and LOVED it. Someone decided to just steal it one day at school and I was really upset because it was like my life. Now I have the latest Ipod nano. Which is good but the battery life isn't near as much as my old one. Which is kind of a bummer because my old one could go for like 2 weeks without a charge, this one only goes 4 days tops.

You don't just hit the center button and it shuffles you hit it then scroll down like 2 options and hit shuffle. I skate with my zune 80 I have dropped it and fallen on it quite a few times and it works perfectly. My sister dropped her ipod the first day she got it and the screen broke. Zunes are much tougher than ipods.

My zune fell and split in 2. Maybe I have a pocket tank for an iPod and a glass as a zune. All my iPods have been dropped a thousand times over my zunes and only 1 has a small problem and thats the lock screen doesn't work. I dropped it in my drink but other then that it works perfectly.

iPods are way better..I had the first nano, had it for 4 years? I've dropped it, road over it with a bike, there should be a lot of damage, but there isn't. It's in great condition, everything works.

Now I have the iPod touch, I fell on it really hard while skating in my back pocket, on touched, no screen cracks or anything. It fell off a roof onto concrete, still works, no scratches or anything.

iPods are amazingly touch and they are just easy to use, everyone knows about them, etc.
