jmaiurro 06-17-2008, 05:42 PM Looks like another person going from a cb2 back to a single kick. :-) Still waiting on mine to arrive.
girlsk8r 06-17-2008, 05:42 PM Nice! what wheels are those?
bbengyak 06-17-2008, 05:45 PM Nice looking board there, is it the same specs as the last one you got from SS just without the upturned nose and concave?
johnny16tx 06-17-2008, 05:45 PM im waiting to skate fs again
till either mostis harris comes in
or the lillis comes out
eitherway
i only like riding singles now :D
Callum Bowran 06-17-2008, 06:02 PM what wheels are those?
They're 'Roller Bones' - essentially, rollerskate wheels made by Bones. Very similar to the Bones Freestyle I's, just with a thinner raceway.

No, it's slightly different. Longer wheelbase, shallower/different shaped tail, different shaped nose.
Exact specs are:
7 1/4" tapering to 7" wide
27 3/4" long
12 1/2" wheelbase
5 1/2" tail
5" nose
i only like riding singles now
Good :)
Zak Kimball 06-17-2008, 06:50 PM this may be a dumb question, but why do you put the screws over the front wheels?
Id guess it because you dont want the grip to be ruined, but I would like to know
Callum Bowran 06-17-2008, 07:00 PM Yeah, you can't really see but the gold screws are flush with the top of the deck so it doesn't effect fingerflips, but the silver ones above the wheels sit above the top layer so that when the board lands upside down it hits those, thius protecting the grip.
arling777 06-17-2008, 07:01 PM It helps protect the board a lot from chipping/cracking...it also helps preserve the griptape when you do caspers.
Speaking of which, thats my only complaint about singles! The grip tape wears out really fast on the front half of the board for me, and I can't really ollie or do kick flips, unless I re grip it or just put some extra strips of it on the old tape.
I love singles though, I think I may be sticking with them. My eastbilt harward(s) are supposed to be here tommorow.
EDIT: I read Zak's post too quickly, and was talking about all of the screws.

Oh cool! I didn't think they looked familar.
freestyledog1 06-17-2008, 09:40 PM awesome setup, Callum. i really like the clean, sharp look with the single sticker.
and i'll get that deck for you soon, Dylan

arling777 06-18-2008, 11:42 AM Why no skid on the nose Callum? I would destroy that end of the board if I didn't put a skid on it.
SOADsk8er 06-18-2008, 12:16 PM I still want to an fs board. im still broke tho cause someone stole my ipod.
lamefreestyler 06-18-2008, 01:34 PM I would destroy that end of the board if I didn't put a skid on it.
Screws help alot to prevent damage. Besides I don't like having a skid on my nose either, same with griptape.
arling777 06-18-2008, 01:43 PM I know, my last two boards have had a few wood screws on each end.
Necromortis 06-18-2008, 04:31 PM Guess who is determined to see you skate that in person ;)
I'll give you a call when I've landed in England and settled in at Oxford (in about a week). I'm chilling in the airport right now.
But back on topic - very nice deck. I like the wheels ;)

Neo IZK 06-18-2008, 06:29 PM Nice board Callum. I too like the simple design on the bottom.
Question though, can you put griptape over the wood screws or do you have to put them in over the grip?

Question though, can you put griptape over the wood screws or do you have to put them in over the grip?Well they help keep the grip on during caspers.
Callum Bowran 06-19-2008, 05:29 AM Question though, can you put griptape over the wood screws or do you have to put them in over the grip?
You can put the screws in and then put grip over it, but the screws will wear through the grip anyway so you may aswell put the grip on first.
Why no skid on the nose Callum? I would destroy that end of the board if I didn't put a skid on it.
No skid on the nose because it feels better. Caspers are far nicer, and fingerflips are a dream. When I first stopped putting skids on, I had to conciously choose which end of my board to do stuff with (i.e carousels from the nose to the tail so the end with the protection gets smashed) but now it's just part of my skating and I don't even think about it.
