View Full Version : am i dying?
well this morning i was just sitting at my computer from just waking up, and i laughed at a vid on youtube (the ollie world record vid actually)
right as i laughed i encountered extreme discomfort to my chest. like someone punched it or something.
it was there for like a few secs and then went away.
i didn't tell anyone, and it didn't happen the rest of the day.
but should i be concerned? i am normal weight, and i skate alot (so that's some exercise), but i do tend to eat lots of junk food...
i am wondering if i should let this pass as nothing, or if i should see a doctor or something, because i went on google and searched "chest pain" and got a crap load of "heart attack risk" stuff......
so now i'm kinda freaking out.....
If it keeps happening then see a doctor
Bragas 06-18-2008, 01:45 AM hmm have you or do you do any drugs for recreational purposes?

NativeSkater 06-18-2008, 01:48 AM Yeah you probably should see a doctor. I get chest pains, but they're usually caused by my asthma. That could be your case, but when you're asthmatic chest pains are usually only caused by action/movement. You weren't moving.
hmm have you or do you do any drugs for recreational purposes?
no, i haven't.
i am starting to think its heart burn from what nervous wrote.
can heart burn kill me?
mazonemayu 06-18-2008, 02:53 AM your heart is located pretty high in your chest, was the feeling above or below the nipple? also, if its really the heart, you should experience a feeling like they put a 10 ton concrete block on your chest.
could be your lungs (you can loose your breath for a sec when laughing out loud, this usually feels like there's something heavy or pounding or your chest) or gas fron your stomach
relax for now, if it keeps happening, go see a vet

J-Ros 06-18-2008, 02:57 AM It happens to me every now and then.. suddenly a burning feeling, which passes away if you take a deep breath. I never saw a doctor for it.. but i would recommend you see one :o

silentscary 06-18-2008, 08:44 AM hahah, that happened to me too one time...

McCrank 06-18-2008, 08:54 AM Nothing to worry about. I get that from time to time.
Paul J 06-18-2008, 09:18 AM I get that quite a lot, usually it's a pain in my chest whenever I take a deep breath, or it's just random pain, I get random pains everywhere D: argh! lol
Elemental106 06-18-2008, 10:18 AM I have chest pain sometimes too. Hahah that's what led me to think I have breast cancer and I was sssspaaazzing, but I definitely don't. I don't take it as life-threatening (my chest pain I mean).

Yep, that's my first thought as well: gas. The pain usually subsides with a burp or a fart.
MysterySk8er3 06-18-2008, 11:35 AM Most likely it was just heart burn like some other people said. I get it from time to time and it does hurt somewhat and it sucks. But it is only breif and nothing really to worry about. Try some tums. They are for heart burn.
jakedaskater 06-18-2008, 11:39 AM its probably gas

To you and AJ, do you mean a sharp pain? Because sometimes that happebs to me when I am just sitting around, I get a sharp pain in my chest and hurts when I breathe in hard.
KrispyKicks 06-18-2008, 01:40 PM Do you smoke? Sometimes that made me have chest pains. Thats why i quit. Smokings gay anyway.
silentscary 06-25-2008, 09:44 PM LOL
i am bumping this up, because last night my friend, josh was saying that he used to get that a lot, so he got it checked out, and apparently the doctor said that it was gas bubbles...
HAHAH...
he is not one to exaggerate or make things up, but i am pretty sure that there is no such thing as gas bubbles in the heart... but idk... just thought it was funny... true or not.
Madison 06-25-2008, 10:21 PM LOL

Haha, Megan I bet your friend was pretty confused.
…Actually, you know what that sounds like? An air/gas embolism, which is pretty serious because it can affect blood flow. :( I doubt that’s it though. :icon_bunc
perplexia 06-25-2008, 10:32 PM I think i know what your talking about. I have that too but mine is caused by air getting into my lungs to fast when i laughj which causes an air bubble to inflate and then deflate in my lungs causing pain. If it gets any worse see somebody
