View Full Version : Great Service!
bbengyak 06-19-2008, 10:17 PM So last Thursday a made an order for a CB3 and griptape from cbskates.com. Now I didn't get a notification of payment until next Monday from John as he said he had been in California and he also informed me that he was out of griptape but to make up for this he said he would throw in a CB3 full graphic to make up for this. That's two decks for $51.98! On top of that was some fast shipping, the boards shipped Tuesday and I got them this afternoon.
Here are some pics:

3042
3043
I have since gripped and set the full graphic up on my bullets and SS wheels, still need to screw it tomorrow and wait for some skids from Jeremy to come.

so i was suprised when i saw the cbs :)
bbengyak 06-19-2008, 10:23 PM ^ You know I'm just joking but no, I decided single kicks aren't my thing and I wanted to skate something a bit larger and my CB2 was pretty sweet so I decided to with Chaos Bros. again.
Tyler Self 06-19-2008, 10:42 PM Those look sweet man. I have two decks I believe are similar, but are blanks from Chaos Brothers.
John really is a nice guy. He had shipped me two decks for free (I only had to pay shipping, which was $10). I told him I would pay him, but soon after my Dad decided to take all my spending money. He really was patient about it, and he got his check in the mail a few days ago. :)
arling777 06-19-2008, 11:04 PM Good stuff dude. I've actually been forcing myself to ride the harward, and it's growing on me a little, but with the shape, I feel like I'm riding an 80's street deck, and the tail is really steep.
I probably don't need to say this, but be careful not to put any woodscrews where the skid holes will be...
If this is your first time skidding a deck, make sure that you drill the holes perpendicular to the tail or so that, if the board is upside down your creating an angle greater than 90 degrees with the majority of the board. This will keep there from being a grap between the end of the skid and the tail. I'm just saying b/c I made this 2nd mistake and almost smacked myself.
girlsk8r 06-20-2008, 07:01 AM YAY! Congrats on getting CB3's! :) John's a great guy and the CB3 is a great board in my opinion. I have a CB2 and CB3 and I've been switching back and forth between the two but I'm finding I much prefer the CB3... it's just a good feeling size and good shape. Looking forward to some footy and hearing what you think after you've ridden them! Oh and LUCKY!! You got the CB3 full graphic! I'm going to have to get skating hard and tear up my CB3 so that I can get the full graphic. haha :)

Don't worry, I've skidded decks before. Worst mistake I ever made was I didn't tighten the clamp enough and then accidentally moved the skid. Ended up that only half the hole lined up with the skid so I had to make a really wide skid hole which leaves plenty of room for the screw to vibrate.
I know you mean on the Harward tail. When I had it I started doing nh 50/ 50s on the nose and when I tried doing them on the tail again after a few, just such a weird feeling.
Some footy on them soon also Emily. Maybe today or tomorrow.
Tyler Self 06-20-2008, 10:41 AM I have skated 3 harwards, and I remember no handed 5050s feeling really weird when the board was relatively new. It had a lot of steepness to it, and when you went to get into the stall, it felt like you were two feet off the ground. It had to be worn down before it felt good. However, once you get used to it it gets really stable.
bbengyak 06-20-2008, 01:41 PM And here's a video:

girlsk8r 06-20-2008, 05:19 PM ^^cool! Nice video! So what do you think of it so far?
bbengyak 06-20-2008, 06:02 PM ^This deck is awesome! I think I've found my favorite freestyle shape! Just all around a great deck. The tails are perfect for varial railflips, the flip always comes of super clean. Great for rolling tricks, I think I've yet to mess up on a 540 shuvit on it and along with that other tricks like old school flips, pressure flips and such just feel great on the board. Even though it is a good amount larger than my last board I don't find many truck tricks much more difficult. Carousels don't feel much different and surprisingly half nose hook impossibles to truck actually feel much easier than on my last deck which was a single and 27 3/4" with a nose just under 5".
The shape is just great all around. It be work well as a transition board, similar to a street deck but very key freestyle features but is also great for an experienced freestyler.
Wow I just typed a lot, kind of did a review there, oh well I think you guys get the picture, I love this deck.
girlsk8r 06-20-2008, 07:34 PM ^Awesome! I'm glad to hear it! Like I've said it's been my favorite deck out of everything I've skated which has included a Skeletal Kangaroo, a Trickster, and a CB2. It really does just feel so good to skate for some reason. It's even nice for ollie flip tricks since it's got a similar shape to a street board. It's just great for a wide variety of tricks and same as you've said I haven't really found any tricks that I find any harder to do on it versus any other board I've skate. If anything tricks have been easier. haha i wrote quite a bit too. Guess people will get some good feedback on the CB3 from this thread. :)
