I was just wondering if the guitarists here on skaterscafe play acoustic or electric/rock guitars or both.
I mostly play electric but I learned acoustic when I was really little.

i love electric but there's no reason for me to play the acoustic because i play most acoustic stuff on the electric and i still love the sound i get.
i play about 20% of the time on acoustic just because it's so user friendly and you dont have to plug it in and the sounds are going through your body. If you have a nice room with a bit of echo, acoustics are mad.

I usually play electric, but occasionally I'll pick up my Takamine acoustic. Some days you just gotta jam on the rawness of a hollow bodied guitar.

i soooooo prefer electric, but i don't have the money right now to buy a nice electric guitar and amp and all that jazz, so right now i am just trying to make the best of my acoustic.

I started playing classical acoustic guitar and I loved it. As I progressed and started to get into the heavy music, then that is when I decided to buy my first electric guitar (instead of an xbox 360) and it was the best decision I have made music wise. I've been playing almost 2 years now and still have a great passion for it. I practice every day and it's not a chore to me, I enjoy it.
The benefit I had with learning classical acoustic first was that it had a big neck and coming down to the thin neck of an electric was much easier for me.

I learned how to play the guitar on an acoustic. Then after a few months I started to rock out with my **** out on an electric and in my opinion it is so much better. Nothing like playing in Drop D as loud as your amp can go and getting complaints by your neighbors.
