Taken from my journal on www.IWSTi.com.

As many of you know, my old STi and myself were the victims of an unlikely accident of which resulted in the demise of two of my ribs and ALL of my first STi. It was a hard time for me, but I am almost over it;) The first STi never got a journal. :(

I purchased this 2005 OBP STi from Spazegun in early August of 2007. I finally took delivery of it on Aug 19 2007.

The car did not come with a Cat-back because I was able to scavenge off what parts I could from my previous STi. So the first thing I did was bolt up my XR-1 Borla CBE.
While I was at it. I slapped on my scavenged 24mm WL adjustable RSB with WL endlinks.

The second thing I did was wash it. It wasnt exactly clean when I received it because I was so pressed for time that Ross did not have the time to get it detailed.

So I washed and detailed it:

Its very first wash under my hands:)

I bypassed the throttle body coolant lines and then my friend Jeff, tuned the car for 91 oct. This car if from Virginia where 93 oct is available. The tune was very conservative so not much needed to be changed. Ironically, Jeff is the one who tuned the car while it was a Virginia resident...It's a small world...

So now it looked and worked good enough for me to sleep well. But since the car came from Virginia, I had to smog it. I scavenged my heat wrapped Helix catted DP from my old STi and slapped it on to pass smog......it passed smog beautifully:) That's how the Spaze mobile became a California resident.

I installed a Panasonic cd-vq DVD/NAV/mp3 etc. player:

The car right now at this point in time still has all of the mods Ross put on the car. They are not necessarily the mods I wanted on the car.

Mods I have accumulated so far but haven't installed: NOW INSTALLED

JDM Pink springs
Used set of USDM struts
Group-N Top hats
RCE lowering Camber plates. (scavenged from my old STi)
Giro disc two piece front rotors
I never shot the car equipped with RCE V2 springs from the side, so the comparison shot is sub-par. (I know Pitcherman was interested a while ago)

RCEv2 springs:

Car made decent power with the stock TM. It was adequate for short bursts but freeway pulls easily soaked the TM with heat.

Spearco TM:

From a DynoPak that reads low and isn't calibrated properly. Probably pushing more like 360 WTQ or so. Notice how the Hp and TQ graphs don't intersect at 5250...

Also, there are two different Y-axes for HP and TQ. TQ is on the left.

Hows the gearbox holding up..? I've read alot of bad things about STI gearboxes...

Really nice looking car and the rims are the perfect look for it...

Really nice looking car and the rims are the perfect look for it...You must be thinking of the Mitisubishi Evolution (Evo) or the regular WRX. Both cars have pretty weak 5 speeds. They call them "glass" transmissions.:icon_razz

The STi 6 speed is absolutely bullet proof. From the factory, it's rated at 700 ft/lbs capable.

Bought the car for 24K.

Put about 11K worth of engine/suspension mods. Kind of makes me sick when I think about it.
