The Beard 06-24-2008, 06:07 PM Just interested on what everyone job/career is. is anyone else here in the skate industry? any architects? any police officers here hiding from those cruel youngins in the main forums?
as you MIGHT know, i manage a skateshop/park out of Southern Minnesota. its a pretty chill job. but man... talk about routine.
Ibanez 06-24-2008, 07:22 PM Shipping a warehouse for DHL we wear the uniforms and stuff but the DHL name nor pay is on our checks.
The Beard 06-24-2008, 07:39 PM hhaha, sounds sketchy...:)
Kowycz 06-24-2008, 08:34 PM I am currently going to school for architectural engineering. If all goes to plan I will finish up with my Bachelor of Science the Spring 2009 semester.

hexane 06-25-2008, 09:17 AM flight instructor
I'm being layed off from the job I've had for 8 years in the movie business. Sucks!
I am a CPA, in tax specifically. Basically help in the preparation of tax returns and tax planning for large corporations and partnerships. I'm leaving my job in a month and will be going to law school in the fall. Hope to practice tax law in the future.
OldBallsNJ 06-25-2008, 11:31 AM Graphic Designer.
Specifically, in-house graphic designer for a Credit Union. My life is an exact copy of Peter in office space. It's SO corporate. I totally work for the man.
I did just get moved to a real office, but that didn't come with a pay raise, or title change. Booooooo.
When 5PM hits, I RUN home to either skate or play guitar with my band.
Looking to one day change my career. In the meantime, I'm starting a side business of Building/repairing guitars.
The Beard 06-25-2008, 03:59 PM wow, good variety, sounds cool guys, movie biz huh noj? what did you do? my cousin does some filming and what not for some major pictures, i forget what they call it his job title...
OBNJ: lol that sounds crappy and funny at the same time, and sweet that your doing guitar repair, ive dabbled in repairing ym own stuff from tiem to time and trying to make new shapes out of premade bodies... turned out to be tougher than expected lol
OldBallsNJ 06-25-2008, 09:48 PM Yeah, I got the idea after A. years of repairing my own guitars and friends guitars, and B. after I just built a custo Warmoth Tele, and it turned out AMAZING. Trying to start the business with my dad, who is also a guitar nut like me.
I figured there's gotta be other people out there who would love a custom guitar, but don't have the time or skill to do it themselves... that's where I would come in.
Guitar is my 1st passion for sure... but right now, I'm obsessed with skating. And I don't see that stopping anytime soon.

OldSchoolKid 07-02-2008, 01:45 AM I go to school a lot.
And I have two part time jobs, both in warehouses, and both suck. One requires that I cut lots of fibreglass matting and ceramic bricks, so it's trying to kill me slowly. But that pays good...so...eh.

psyonix 08-01-2008, 10:41 AM I'm a Data Coordinator in a Verizon Wireless call center. Basically it's a fancy name for a Tech Support Jockey. I get paid obscene amounts of money for the sort of of job I do, which is repairing network issues, PDAs, smartphones, data cards, picture messaging- you name it. Best phone job one could ever have- yet perhaps one of the most difficult.
