View Full Version : filming wheels
sackofsuck 06-24-2008, 09:34 PM Anyone want to show me the way into filming wheels and or accessories?
can i just get the wheels and slap em on when i film?
my wheels are too noisy for lines.
i have no clue on the sizes/ brands/ softness
The brand doesn't matter, get soft, big wheels (like 60+ mm). The best option being having your usual set-up to skate on, and an extra set-up with the big wheels to switch to when you want to film (you can use an old deck and an old pair of (loose) trucks, it's not like it matters).
phlap 06-25-2008, 07:30 AM The only difference beetween filming wheels and normal wheels is the size and hardness rating. Normal wheels are around 99a, whereas so-called filming wheels have a lower rating.
Big soft wheels and loose trucks, because no-one likes a tic-taccing filmer!
hokus pokus 06-25-2008, 08:04 AM im using some sector 9's, super big, super soft. you cant hear me coming haha
cracks, pebbles, grass dirt = no problem.... slowing down hahaha well thats where your old beated skate shoes come in
street skater 06-25-2008, 08:30 AM Get some 22s on that, then put spinners on it then listen to "Ridin' Spinners - Three Six Mafia"
sackofsuck 06-25-2008, 11:18 AM would 62mm 78a longboard wheels fit on some regular trucks?

hahaha funny story, i was skating through the hood of norfolk with my bro when all of a sudden i hear "i like his board - it looks like he rollin on some dubs"
hahaha since my filming board has risers and it looks lifted with huge wheels.
maybe i should send a pic into dub magazine
persondude 06-25-2008, 11:29 AM Satori Goo-Balls have always seemed to me to be the standard set of filmer wheels. http://www.tactics.com/satori-movement/goo-ball-wheels You'll need some good riser pads to fit these on.
AWS made or is making a complete with this deck http://www.tactics.com/alien-workshop/filmer-model-825-deck?src=gglb with wheels, trucks, and bearings made and tuned specifically for filmers. That deck is awesome btw, every part of the graphic is used for something, i.e. white balancing.

They should. Just look for a destroyed 8+ board, slap on your old trucks (Risers might be needed), and loosen em up. You'll have a legit filmer board. My friend has one, it's so much fun to start lines rolling down some hill. People unaware of the filmerboard comment like "ZOMG U RODE DOWN HILL. HOW?!?!!?!?1/1/?!/"
jayadams 06-25-2008, 03:09 PM - Bones SoftCore
- Autobahn...check their website out, then you'll see this 56mm wheel in 80a. Perfect.
The Bones come in various sizes, from 52-60mm. If I could choose two of them, any of the above would be my #1 choice. I'd take the bones 60mm's over anything though...
Cheers!
