i dont know if you have em near you but how do you feel about zumeiz?

Zumiez is alright. I used to work there. Just like everything else, it depends on where you go. It's definitely better than a PacSun or something. The people that work @ the ones in my area really know wha they're doing. It's run like a legit skate shop. I still prefer the mom and pop skate shops, though.

We only have 1 REAL skate shop where I live, the other sells more surfey crap when there isn't even a beach here...but the skate shop is wicked owner is nice as, sometimes I get free belts or stickers :)

A stupid clothing store that has a couch, sells five 7.5 boards, sells the most expensive trucks and bumps them up about 10 to 20 dollars. With employees that don't know what there talking about or understand anything about skating. Punk rock lurkers, random 15 year old girls that lurk around searching for the prefect sk8er boi (best part about it). Fail of a store.

The one I go to has all typed of boards; hundreds of them.

I'm so ashamed to admit that I buy blanks from there.

Zumiez, it's alright. People that work in the Zumiez over here are cool, but the girls don't know what they are talking about when I talk to them.. The store has good sales, like the on-sale shoes 2 for $50, that's really good pricing. I can make things be more afforable if they do that more often. I only buy decks from my local skate shop though if not on the internet, unless Zumiez has a crazy deck sale, but they don't so I don't buy decks from there. People at my local skate shop are getting more used to me "hey you're back, what are you looking for this time? I'll help you out!" I find it great, I love it. Zumiez though, they have like new employees probably every week, every time I go into Zumiez, I see a different person, never the same. It's a store that has men who have the knowledge of skateboarding more than the girlies and one guy that work in the Pacsun. lol.

Zumiez isn't a bad place. It's my last resort skate shop. And now my good skateshop is closing on the 30th of June. And that pisses me off a lot. So now i have to either go to the other skate shop, who makes you pay for every little thing. They charge like 10 bucks to change trucks onto a new deck. So I might end up having to go with Zumiez. It's not terrible there. They have a lot of decks all the time.

anything is better than pacsun, i went to one in florida and all they had was like dc, volcom, and billabong - i thought it was extremely homo.

ive never been to a zumiez, but it sounds an awful lot like west 49, its a chain of shops in canada, its a pretty good store, for the most part they all skate, but there will always be the odd guy who you look and go "wow, that guy knows absolutely nothing about skating".

because almost everyone that works in the Pacsun in my area is completely dumbfounded with skating and surfing knowledge......................it's bad, seriously. It'd almost like they don't know anything and someone just hit them with a brick or something.

Only one dude in the Zumiez near me knows anything about skating. And I've only seen him there twice. Theres always different people every time i go there.

I like Zumiez but I loved the old Fast Forward we had over here. At the mall like a mile from my house we have two Zumiez. I know a lot of the people that work there and most of them are pretty chill dudes. They have a ton of deck, trucks, wheels, and bearings. I mostly by blanks though so it doesn't help me much. Over all the Zumiez's in my area is pretty good.

My experience with Zumiez...

It's kind of a 'poser' (I'm realy sorry) place. The employees don't know anything about skating. They sell an assortment of boards, but they can't realy help you out except say something like "What company of board are you looking for?," "Do you like this graphic?"

It's not a bad place, you can go there and get stuff that you want. The service does the best they can, but it's different people everytime that don't know anything about skating.

The clothes they sell there is pretty awesome, and the service is good on that. I've only bought clothes from there so far, I've only had one board- and that was from NEX. (Navy Exchange store, my dad's retired from the navy)
Don't worry, the board's real. Birdhouse, but real.

Back to the point and in conclusion-
Zumiez is a place where you can get some high quality skateboards, shoes and nice clothes. The service dosen't know much about skating, but if you know what you're doing you can go in and go out with little discussion.
I'd much rather go to my local shop and have a nice discussion with Kyle (local store owner) while getting a board, or whatever I need.

zumiez is a fail store. thats all there is to say

the zumiez here use to be cool
but now that active opened up noone goes there

I actually like the zumiez in my area, for these reasons;

1) The "VANS" store in my area sucks (due to mostly bad service, small selection of stuff, AND TOO MUCH CLOTHES!!)
2) The Mainland Skate & Surf is 'aight (theres only one cool dude who works there everyone else seems clueless)
3) At the Zumiez I go to, I like to humiliate the poor girl who doesn't know squat about skateboards (I am so mean, oh well...)
4) The Zumiez employees are cool with me (they know me better than I know them)
5) **many other reasons, I'm too lazy to list...**

The Pacsun I go to has some surf boards haha and my friend told me it was a skateshop. I never went to Pacsun before until she showed me it so I was like so confused because I didn't see any decks anywhere.

dude i had the same exact problem. idk wut one you go to but im at the milford one and the peps that work there have no clue wut there doing.

my skate shop closed down last year. a zumiez would be cool seeing as i get everything online now. (something is better than nothing, right?)

It's ok. I don't normally buy anything though.

The reason your good skateshop is closing down is BECAUSE of Zumiez. They literally feed on the skate industry like a parasite. killing every other shop in the area that cant make it big because they dont have millions of dollars to open the shop up like a Zumiez does. the rich get richer. and its lame as hell. boycott your zumiez because they destroyed your skateshop. Zumiez gives nothing back to the community other than the couch tour which they make hella money off of it. they dont sponsor skaters. no zumiez skate team videos, or demos. they dont open parks up for you. they are skateboardings greedy *******s. dont let your shop close down. start a riot. raise money for them somehow. dont let them win.



BOYCOTT ZUMIEZ. SUPPORT SHOPS THAT CARE ABOUT SKATEBOARDING.

I don't even think we have one in Canada.. not suree.

but i went to one in California, and it wasn't really somewhere where i would shop.

Love Zumiez for one reason

The other day I was skating at my outdoor mall right ? When this police car just turns it sirens on and tells me to stop. I see the Zumiez around the block and run in. The guys at Zumiez ask whats wrong seeing as im all running and what not and I tell them about the police. When the cop comes in, they calm him down so I dont get a ticket. But I still had to leave the mall.

i like some of pacsun's stuff..occasionally they'll have independent truck shirts, or circa and stuff like that. i only like some hurley stuff

i love that shop its the bomb

the stores are my last resort to buy stuff,
its always a legit skateshop but its so hard to get to one cause i live so far from them,

but
zumiez does help skating with the couch tour :D
