I dont want to sound like jerry seinfield but, what is it with crippled people?
well more to the point, why arent there more amazing crippled guitarists? Since their legs dont work you'd think they'd be picking away on the guitar making the most of their working parts.
I'll tell you why..
A guy can be the biggest slob who never gets off his fat ass but the minute the doctor says (after an accident) "you may never walk again" all of a sudden he has aspirations of climbing mount everest or going to the olympics.
It's like they just want to do stuff that their body isnt ideal for just for the sake of saying "yeah... see? i can do stuff that usually takes legs even though i got none."
It's cool if you've loved sports all your life and want to continue in a different way, but what if ray charles had of taken up painting after he went blind. Or Muhammad ali taking up medical surgery after he got parkinson's or that scientist guy who speaks through a computer took up singing.

No offense to anyone, but i just feel really ripped off that there arent a bunch of wheel chair superstars in the music world and i needed to tell someone.

Getting into a crippling accident doesn't make you a savant.

being crippled doesnt mean your different. yeah you have limitations but you're still as normal as any other person
i think people just do what they like. maybe having a handicap makes them realize that you've got to live life more and take the best of it. so they just go for whatever their hobbies are and try harder, but their hobbies were still those before they got handicapped

like ray charles learned to play the piano before he went blind. and once he was blind his hearing got much better so he took advantage of what he had and kept playing the piano. and people are really amazed at the ones who do stuff with such a big limitation so they get really famous

It would be really cool to be a savant though. Like that dude who can solve any math equation you give him in his head without hardly even trying, because he sees it solve out in his brain for him. Why can't I have that!?!? Math is my worst subject, I need that more than him!

Like kf831 said, not everyone is that much into music. I mean, if it's just your legs, there's a ton of stuff you can do, it's not just limited to music. Not everyone becomes lazy and gives up on life. Their idea of life might not be practicing guitar till their fingers go out on them too.

Maybe some just want to live there life and be around family. They don't need to take up something and become great at it.
