How do you capture your video?


I'm kind of wondering whats the best way.


I use WMM then open it in Sony Vegas to edit. I tried capturing with Vegas but it had an error and says it won't work.






So what do you use to capture video from your camcorder to your computer?

but you plug it all in first, then you get the vid prepped (aka where you want to start recording) and then open your editing program and there should be an option somewhere called "Capture" and then when the capture window opens click, "record" and once it starts recording press "play" on your camera and then let it play until you get to the end of what you want. Then press "stop" on your camera and the "stop recording" button in the capture window and you got yourself a nice video clip

Dude, wtf? I asking WHAT PROGRAM PEOPLE USE. Not how to capture, I know how.

I want to know WHAT PROGRAM they use to get best quality, if that even matters.

welll as long as the captured footage is uncompressed it'll be good quality, i just use the sony vegas capturing program because I LOVE IT. it splits up the clips for you, unlike premier. then when i capture i just transfer the files to premier and done

Ok, thanks. When you use Vegas, do you pick DV or the other one (can't remember)?

i use DV becaue I'm not capturing of and HD cam
