the potrero del sol/la raza skatepark is officially open this weekend. its right off the 101 at the potrero/caeser chavez exit. just take the exit, make a hard right onto potrero ave and then its like 100' after you get on potereo there is a park on the right size just after the warehouse and the garden. the skate park is in that park.

i went there a few months ago while it was still under construction and climbed the fence to skate it.. the street course is kind of wierd, its like down hill into a large quarterpipe wall, its kind of strange. there are a lot of small banks and ledges around the edges of the street course. i dont remember if there are any rails, its been a few months since ive been there. however, the pool is sweet. its a giant penis bowl with pool coping. its kind of tight, but its really fast and smooth.

this is a kind of shady neighborhood so dont leave anything in your car of any value and watch out for the junkies, homeless and gangsters in the neighborhood across the street at the liquor store, they can be kind of a pain the ass sometimes.

it doesnt look like that at all. the pool is like a penis bowl, its got two side pocket bowls and then it dips down to a big main bowl. theres no oververt pocket.

the street course doesnt have that pyrimid or the table-top thing. it just has the quarter pipes around the outside edge.

unless they totally demoed it and redid it, thats not tha place i was at a few months ago. the skatepark was finished in like april when we went, the only reason it was closed was because they were redoing the rest of the park around it still.

That looks like a real beauiful skatepark. Definitely something we need here. My entire city doesn't have a nice proper skatepark...and there quite a few skaters.

Oh well...good luck with all that!

Cheers!
