I personally think that they shouldn't be there, and George Bush just wants oil. There is evedence that supports this. Like the fact that they initially went into Iraq in search of WMD. But since then the American government has officially stated that there are no WMD in Iraq. This means that Iraq is NOT a threat to the US's national security. Yet they still fight...for some reason. They do have a reason to fight in Afganistan, they are fighting against the taliban (don't know if I spelled that right) so I support that. But there is absolutely no reason for the US to be in Iraq, that I see...

so what do you guys think about the US in Iraq?

^^lol. I saw a political cartoon awhile ago that had "Peace and Unity in Iraq: Mission Accomplished" at the top and below it had Muslims and Arab looking people shouting "death to the US!" and "US is Satan!"

I am for the war. If we don't go to war over there and fight the Taliban and Alquida, that will just allow them to get even bigger and stronger and maybe one day cause more damage to the U.S.

It's the oil, stupid. Iraq sits on one of the largest oil reserves in the world. American oil interests are set to gain access to the untapped sources as I type. (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/30/world/middleeast/30contract.html)

Keep in mind, Iraq was a secular government under Saddam Hussein, not in any way connected to the Taliban or to Al Queda. Al Queda did not arrive in Iraq until after we had invaded and provided them a training ground for would-be terrorists. Al Queda is a criminal organization without borders, and would be better policed financially and diplomatically than militarily.

Were the Taliban and Al Queda in Iraq before the invasion? After you're done googling the answer, come back and give us your opinion again...
