View Full Version : Confusing tricks
dyelax 06-29-2008, 04:08 PM hey guys I was just wondering what all these tricks actually are.
inward heelflip
hardflip
hospital flip
featherflip
kiwi flip
Ya I know im really dumb.
andius 06-29-2008, 04:24 PM hardflips are f/s shuvs + kickflip
inward heels are b/s shuvs + heelflip
i know what the other ones are, but im not sure about describing them in words, so i'll leave that to someone more knowledgeable about those kooky tricks
505088K 06-29-2008, 04:44 PM inward heelflip:Bs shovit+heelflip
hardflip:Fs shovit+kickflip
hospital flip:CasperFlip with only your front foot.
featherflip:not sure, but I think its an 1/2 impossible anti casper flip or something.
search on youtube and look!!
kiwi flip:Spins like a Varial heel.but you do it with a backfoot underflip involved.
ZephyrGod 06-29-2008, 05:18 PM inward heelflip: BS Shuv with a Heelflip thrown in.
hardflip: FS Shuv with a Kickfli thrown in.
hospital flip: Half Kickflip with a sort of late shuv-it.
featherflip: I think this is like a half Impossible but you stop the board going all the way with your back foot an it nds up below you again. I think its also known as a Dolphin flip.
kiwi flip: FS Shuv with a late Under Heelflip thrown in. I don't completely get how to do these even though i've landed them.
cha-BANG 06-29-2008, 05:22 PM pop shuv it + heelflip = inward heel
fs shuv it + kickflip = hardflip
half flip + late front foot varial 1/2 inward heel (with toe though) = hospital flip
half impossible + late half backfoot frontflip motion of the board = featherflip
fs shuv it + back foot heel underflip = kiwiflip
TheNoComplyKid 06-29-2008, 06:03 PM hey guys I was just wondering what all these tricks actually are.
inward heelflip - backside pop shove-it and a heeflip
hardflip - frontside shove-it and a kickflip (a fs flip without the body turn)
hospital flip - half kickflip with a late shove-it back up
featherflip - half impossible late nose-casper flip
kiwi flip - frontside pop shove-it with a heelside underflip (varial heelflip rotation)
Ya I know im really dumb. - no you're not
If you still don't know what all these are, search them on youtube.
dyelax 06-29-2008, 07:38 PM so do you land hospital flips upside down or something?
and what's a heelside underflip?
Edit: also what's a pressure flip?
cha-BANG 06-29-2008, 07:42 PM *superman theme or something* MRCK TO THE RESCUE!!!!!! (music cuts) gahhhh...
i bet he could tell us all of them really good, but TNK did a good job
props
fallenNJzero 06-29-2008, 08:39 PM inward heelflip is a heelflip and a bs shuv
hardflip is a kickflip and a fs shuv
hospital flip looks like some half kickflip and a shuv but somehow lands upright
featherflip is too confusing
kiwi flip im pretty sure involves like a varial heel and an underflip
Sonix 06-30-2008, 07:19 AM so do you land hospital flips upside down or something?
and what's a heelside underflip?
Edit: also what's a pressure flip?
You land hospital flips normally.
Heelside underflip is underflip done at heelside of the board.
Kiwiflips aren't fs shuv heelside underflips but fs shuv heelside heelunderflips. Heelside underflip can be done with toes too, which by definition aren't kiwiflips :)
Pressure flips are done by applying pressure at certain points of skate, using only backfoot. The most common one is inward heel rotation, which you do by applying pressure to toeside concave part of the tail.
hokus pokus 06-30-2008, 09:14 AM sonix looking at your sig trick..^^^
that looks like a 360 f/s pressure flip.
i never understood all these name changes for tricks?
Sonix 06-30-2008, 12:29 PM Nah its not a 360 fs pressure flip. Its 360 heel underflip aka 360 kiwiflip.
There is no way this is pressure lazer flip (and it can't be 360 pressure hard since it rotates like lazer), which are waaaay harder than 360 kiwiflips.
eleventytwo 07-01-2008, 12:04 AM so a frontside shuv with a heelflip is a varial heel right?
lilro 07-01-2008, 12:18 AM hey guys I was just wondering what all these tricks actually are.
inward heelflip - 0n7ogWDTQXo
hardflip - 6EFtHtywbKo
hospital flip - UuHFHKdiGYY
featherflip - 8Eh3SC1FLIQ
kiwi flip - couldn't find a decent quality single kiwi on youtube, but it was explained pretty well here.
Ya I know im really dumb.
don't feel bad dude i didn't know what hospital flip, feather flip, and kiwi flip even were until i came to this site:).
so a frontside shuv with a heelflip is a varial heel right?
yes it is
dyelax 07-03-2008, 05:59 PM so what's an underflip?
and i didn't really get your definition of a pressure flip
cha-BANG 07-03-2008, 11:25 PM an underflip is when the board is flipped from, well, under! say "shove it underflip".. easy underflip variation, you do a shuv it, and then you pull your back toes up to flip the board, (your toes touch the graphic side) yup.
a pressure flip is when you apply pressure to the back foot's toes, on the toeside edge of the tail. you then let go with the front foot, releasing the pressure and flipping the board (commonly like an inward heelflip).
supersonix6 has a really good pressure flip trick tip ;)
also a 360 inward heelflip is just a 360 shuv it the opposite direction for laserflips
POUNSTER 07-08-2008, 03:37 PM i dont know what a kiwi flip. is. but it looks like a laser flip. and laser flip imo >>>>> everything. even switch donkey flip
