You should learn to tic tac, which is pivoting about 45 degrees (give or take) left and right over and over, which will get you moving. Also, practise ollies and shoves until you get them. The process of learning them will help you with board control, balance and commitment. mc studda 06-29-2008, 06:35 PM skate as much as possible...and get to the point where the board feels very comfortable below your feet. mazonemayu 06-29-2008, 06:36 PM put the thickest risers you can find on it, do your stuff for a month or so, & remove em again alienworkshp321 06-29-2008, 07:20 PM put the thickest risers you can find on it, do your stuff for a month or so, & remove em again what does that do? Troy 07-03-2008, 03:34 PM you might want to get softer wheels. And low trucks give you more balance too. andius 07-04-2008, 02:31 AM Nah, he doesn't need to buy more stuff, lots of people on here seem to want to throw cash at all of lifes problems... Board control just comes naturally, just ride everyday and try to get places faster each time, just get comfortable riding and popping up curbs, mannys, and just figuring out the board for yourself. RyanSkates111 07-08-2008, 11:45 AM try to ride your board as fast as you can that will make it seem easier when you roll slower mazonemayu 07-08-2008, 02:01 PM what does that do? your board will be 1cm higher on your trucks than usual, so you'll have less balance; if you master this & remove the risers, you're closer to the ground again & your balance will automatically improve coz you're lower + you'll have mastered the higher balance = combine those 2 & you have great balance all of a sudden. I'm not sure if I'm saying it right, I know exactly what I mean, but english isn't my native tongue. It has everything to do with how your body reacts to gravity when you're standing hight or lower on your board (your central point) |
