I was wondering if this would be a good quality camera,,Sony DCR-DVD610 DVD Handycam Camcorder with 40x Optical Zoom

I know everyone recomend mini dv,, but I like the look of this camera alot,, and when you go to your editing software and edit the video, cant you save it back to the dvd? Wouldnt that be easier than to record on mini dv and then have to burn it to a dvd. Cause you could just save it back to the dvd and then watch it on tv.

i have that camera dude, but i dont use it for skating. when you record stuff it saves it direct to the dvd so that you can just take it out and watch on a tv.

I know that. I was wondering is it a good camera and are dvds fine instead of using mini dv?

because the videos don't automatically get compressed onto a dvd, its pure uncompressed on a tape. Quality is ten times better on it and DVD is just stupid in my head.

^ wham, he beat me to it
-no compression of the video, so its quality isn't bogged down by being compressed into the hardrive/memory card
-and dvds are just dumb. period.
