Do you like smooth, that was nothing, stomp bolts every trick kind of style like stevie willams?
Or do you enjoy the clean solid styles like mike mo.
Even the fast aggressive styles like corey duffel?

I for one like duffel and lizard kings style, because they go balls out on every trick, and there style keeps skating fast and fun, not fake steez. Im trying to get to the point where i have that style, and i think im leaning towards lizard king

Oh thank FSM.

I thought this was going to be another "Sk8r fashunnn" thread.

Hmm..

Out of those three I like to think I have the style similar to Mike Mo..at least when I feel like landing my tricks bolts.. haha, so like, ledges and stuff..

Stairs I say duffel though.
:)

Depends though.

wow, this is really tight for me between duffel and mo. you gotta love mike's steezy flip tricks, perfect on every one. but cory duffel's just like "i'm gonna ollie this 23 set (with a flat somwhere) and he just pwnz it. his kickflips over rails and stuff are amazing. in some parts he kinda reminids me of chris haslam, who is also one of my favorite skaters.

i haven't gone too big yet, so i think i'm still closer to mike mo, but when i start ripping everything i can find, ima be duffel jr. baby!

Fast and Aggressive is the style I like to see in parts and stuff. My style is more like, a relaxed style. I don't go to fast and I cruise more than I push. Its the style that would fit well with a Beatles song in the background.. haha

you know what's awesome? pretend you're being filmed, hum a song in your head for the part, or play it on your iPod, and just skate every obstacle you come to :D

feels great, get's you pumping like crazy, i LOVE it! today i was doing that, and there was this guy on his porch, and so i pulled a little line for him.

5050 front shuv out on a ledge thing
nollie back shuv
fs 180
fakie bigflip

it's so much fun now, i always do that ^_^

I really don't pay attention if a person's style is good or not. In fact I wouldn't even know how to judge if a person's style is good or not.

Ryan Gallant's style, which is the effortless kind.

I like all kinds. My style is more like Mike Mo's or P-rods where I try to make everything as clean as possible. But I like watching all kinds: Erik Ellington, Andrew Reynolds, Braydon Szafranski, Kenny Hoyle, Mike Carroll, Guy Mariano, Eric Koston, Alex Olson, P-Rod, Justin Eldridge, Sean Malto, TNT. Basically whoever looks comfortable on their board and has a lot of Flow.

But the best style has to go to Bryan Herman. His is like an effortless agressive style. Just watch his Deathwish part or other recent videos.

I think I have a combination of all.

I love going fast and popping tricks, landing on bolts, and make it look smooth (I mean it in the most non ego way possible)

like mo or jimmy cao.

Smooth and aggressive. Especially when skating stairs. That's because I'm slightly nervous, so I try my best to get rid of all the fear, and I end up being a daredevil going fast and high.

For quarterpipes and stuff I'm sometimes slightly rigid, but sometimes real smooth. I try to concentrate but I just forget about it. What's worst is my arm position. When I push I bend my arms upwards into this really lame position, like a chickenwing. I notice that when leaving my hands hanging down till right when I do the trick, it looks way better.

Cheers!

But out of those, I would say Stevie Steeze, because I love the kind of skating he does, and everything looks so good.

Bragas
07-15-2008, 02:47 AM
my style was definitley completely my own

i had days where i tore it up at least to my satisfaction...
i stole ledges...got nice nice ollies and ollie manny lines...

i kept it simple but i owned it..
my friends said i had a good stance and something they desrcibed as good posture?
whatever it be...it felt right to me...and if it feels right...the visuals dont dissappoint.

when preparing for tricks
id go at it real easy and mellow...like taking a kindergardner to school.
and on the exit id get that mess on icee. haha

ah that brings me back to humble memories.

ZephyrGod
07-19-2008, 04:57 PM
I like to land all my tricks clean and i generally do. I like the fluid sort of style and i think you can see that in my "style" when i skate. I don't like landing tricks sketchy and if i do i have to do it again cleaner, where as some people land something sketchy and take it.

im having trouble with correy duffel and mike mo. mike mo's cleanness is insane and he makes every trick look like its as easy as breathing, but correy duffel charges so hard and i think ill have to go with duffel

for me, skating falls into the same catergory as speech, fashion, art, and basically all other forms of self expression:

sall about the steez.

making it look easy and fluid is pretty much the ideal with a deck under my feet. it should be yours too.

After 100s of people telling me I have no style, or my style is sketchy, i agree. I can do basic tricks like kickflips clean and fast and smooth and sylin' but when I go to tricks that are complicated... not so much style. I would say my tricks are quantity over quality. I live in a col-de-sac and my driveway is steep so i roll down my driveway and try to get lots of speed and just bust out some clean kickflips.

I love Mike Mo's style. It is so awesome. I am a long way away from skating like him, but it would be awesome if I could. :)

08-08-2008, 09:35 AM
The style that skates.

I dig people who go fast and carve. It just feels good to me. I never got the whole skating like a stickman in a straight line.
