The camera i want to get as my first camera is the JVC GZ-MG360BU
( JVC GZ-MG360BU Everio 60GB SD / HDD Hybrid Digital Camcorder )
Yes. this camera is hard drive camera, i know most people say for quality sake go with a mini DV / CCD but i have no idead what a mini DV means and i dont know what firewire is, so im just stickin to my strenghs. But like i said it;s my first camera so insane quality is not really necessary.
So considering my situation, would this camera be a good idea? Also, would this camera be compatible with a fisheye?
I am very new to this so i appreciate the help.
Sorry, im new to the forums aswell so i cant put URL, just put the name into google or whatever

this camera i believe is 43mm so you actually need a step-DOWN ring so you'll have some horrid vig and even if you zoom through it'll look ugly. I know you want to listen to your "Strengths" but just a mini DV camera. Its a camera that takes little tapes and thats what it records on. And firewire is like USB but the cable is larger because sending uncompressed mini dv film though a USB is like drinking a milk shake threw a stirrer straw. So just go to you're local electronics store and look at the ones that use tapes, very good cameras, very good prices. I highly recommend Panasonic btw. JVC is terrible trust me.

Okay, so another one i could get would be the Panasonic PV-GS80. Like you said it is both a mini DV and a panasonic like u recommended. It is also compatible with a fish eye lens which is an added bonus, and it is cheaper. Sounds like a good buy! Would this be a better camera/better choice? Does this one have good quality.
And can anyone explain to me what a mini DV is again and how it is used (like what would you do to get it onto the computer)?

A MiniDv camera is a camcorder that uses MiniDv tapes. To get them on your computer you need to get a firewire cable, its like a USB but sends it to your computer uncompressed, and when you record on MiniDv its uncompressed unlike DVD or HDD
