Firefox is pretty good for security, but it's not entirely necessary.

The new Apple Safari browser does the trick. I personally love it. It's the browser that the iPhone and iTouch uses. Look into it.

Also since you say you're having memory problems, try closing out all unnecessary programs such as in the lower right-hand task bar. You can easily do this using the Task Manager. And I recommend downloading CCleaner, which can clear up immense amounts of much needed space on your computer.

Google it, it's a free program. If you can't find it I can hook you up with a link later.

Not to the extent that you seem to be having a problem.

But it it just completely stops working on certain sites, I think it might just be the computer though.. lol.

Never hurts to look through your settings though.

about:config

and you can pipeline..

nope i haven't been experiencing that.

hmm maybe run a virus scan just in case. also running an adware/spyware remover will make your comp faster

EDIT: but a few days ago it kept saying a directory was corrupt and then i couldn't enter any information into fields ie logging into myspace, sc, etc

mine has been being weird too, it has been really slow sometimes, and if i have more than 2 firefox windows open, it lags up and stops responding. I have firefox 3

Stop looking at porn so much?

Jk of course, run a virus scan first and see if thats affected you. Could it possibly be your RAM?

run a spybot search and then a cleaner this could definatly help if you just got a load of useless stuff built up on the computer or even a small crappy virus .

I don't know if it's a virus or something to do with the individual computers, as a few people are having the same problem.

I didn't even upgrade to FF 3, 2.5 ftw.

i guess it has to be a virus or something. firefox 3 takes much less of your memory than previous versions.
i think you should just reinstall windows. that's wat always works :)

I think that re installing Windows is a tad bit drastic for the situation at hand. If it IS a virus, you can remove it manually.

Same here.

As long as it works fine, it's good for me =]

I had this problem with later versions of FF3 its some memory leak problem, many others are experiencing it on the firefox forums. A quick fix would be to make another firefox account (http://labnol.blogspot.com/2007/09/firefox-runs-slow-speed-memory-fast.html).

But that only works for a couple hours until it gets slow again. My suggestion would be switching to a browser called "Flock". It works with all of your firefox extensions and has some added features which are also nice. Good luck.

Firefox 3 is really annoying me. Apparently it's ment to be fast, and I keep having problems with it. Just now youtube wouldn't work and it kept saying "bad request" so I had to delete my cookies to solve the problem... what the hell.
