Well all summer me and my dad have been looking for a good motorcycle/moped for me to get. Ive ridden dirtbikes and i drive a moped around daily so it wasnt anything new really just a bigger engine and looks alot cooler. Well i was looking at ninja 250r's and my dad started to get to looking at them. Well i come home from a friends house the next day and sitting on my computer table is a recipt for 4000 dolloars at our kawasaki honda shop.

so i a month and couple weeks i will be getting a 2008 kawasaki ninja 250r that is lime green :D :D :D which is almost impossible to get considering your lucky if you get a red black or blue one since they are selling so fast

it should look similar to this
http://z.about.com/d/motorcycles/1/7/b/7/-/-/08_Ninja250R_Right.jpg

and i will be putting on a yoshi exhaust asap

they run pretty good for a 250 it may be small but it does do good with were the power goes. It revs up to 13000 rpm and when you go above 10 then it really howls. 0 to 60 in 5.74 which is bad with a top speed at 105-110. they dont get amazing gas but they get better the longer you have them.

here is what one sounds like and other junk and stuff

I plan on getting one in the next 2 years as the first car I pay for. I got a 93' Ford Mustang right now to drive when I turn 16.

The 250r's price is great at $3500 msrp, and they get something like 75 mpg. The body type is much nicer then the older models of the 250r. The body is also bigger. It is close to the size of the 600r. I can't wait til I get one.

i do agree they look better with two but mine will have one exhaust. But yes they do have 250s some people say they are girls bikes but i have to disagree they do produe a bit of hp from the small motor and i think that a 250 would beat a 500 on a curvy course but if it was all straights they dont perform with that. They look soo much different from the 07's and kawasaki says that not one peice of body is the same. the thing about the MSRP price is every dealership is going crazy putting prices well over the msrp for some stupid reason. He had to haggle them down from 5 just to get 4

I thought ninjas were like amazing bikes? Like really quick and they did over like 200 top speed. Maybe I'm thinking of the higher end model or something. I dunno?

there are different size engines for ninjas like the low end is the 250 cc engine which does 38 hp and i think the 1000cc has about 162hp i think that is if it is right

they arent smal really. they can do over 100 mph they can accelerate fast enough to get out of jams and it was voted best beginner bike of the year from several top magazines and websites so it is a good spot to start out on.

It's a very nice bike to start on, actually - especially considering he is only 16! I probably would have stained my underwear riding one of those at 16. Then again, he's been doing offroad, so all's good.

at 17 I was riding a DT 125 with around 20ish hp and it was more than fine. SO, congrats on the bike, my lad!!

Sounds like you have some bike experience so it should be good, I don't recommend sportbikes as street starters though. Plastic is expensive to replace and new riders will go down(so will experienced riders). Take the MSF class if you can and watch out for cars, they really don't see you at all.

^ haha lmao. No, the light that flashed had an arrow that pointed both ways, meaning that he just had the blinker on.. he most likely actually had it going left. :icon_wink

That would be fun..but if you're going to get a bike..go big and get one with at least 80 hp. But hey...Id get one with 35 hp just to have fun. Good luck.

Dudes.. when you're starting, 32 hp rips your arms off. 100 feels like a million. If I had gone from passing test to a 100hp bike I would have eated tree, FAST.

My only gripe with your bike is that it isn't 2 stroke ;) NSR 250.. now that thing goes...

Wish my parents were a little more supportive with me wanting to ride a bike. And realize that we don't have the money to buy myself a car instead of a bike. I mean face it! Food that bikes eat are cheaper than what a car eats as well. Right!
