d00d that pretty much makes you a jew!!! JKKKK! pretty much if you didnt have a bar/bat mitzvah and you have never been to high holiday services you arent really even considered to be a jew in my opinion.

I'm sorry but that is some of the most idiotic stuff I have seen in these forums lately.

There is no such thing as "half Jewish" or "a full blooded Jew." Judaism is a religion not a race, that means you are either Jewish or your not and it is in no way in your blood.

Now jakedaskater would be born in to Judaism as his mother is Jewish but if his father was Jewish but his mother was not he would not be, you are only born into if your mother is Jewish so he would be a Jew, a full Jew, not half quarter, eighth there is no such thing as that with religions.

Oh, and I'm not Jewish.

ok i see what your point is and i agree with it. there is no such thing as being half jewish or fully jewish. some people who have one parent who is jewish tend to call themselves "half jewish" but dont actually participate in the religion. being what i called a full blooded jew would be having both parents be jewish therefore being born into that religion and waiting until you are older to decide what your religious path will be.

totally true. being a Jew is like being straight edge, plus you follow most of the rules of the OT. i have meet a Jew, and he's really hardcore about his lifestyle... to the point of vegetarian diet and no caffeine, etc

No, wrong. Being Jewish is way more of a cultural identity than a religious affiliation. Ask any orthodox jew, you can follow the doctrine of the jewish religion, but if you don't have the blood, you're not jewish. Personally, I have some jewish blood, and through this I identify myself with the culture, but I am not religious. Einstein was jewish, but not religious. Larry David is jewish but not religious. Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis are jewish but not religious (and they're super hot.) But they all identify themselves with a common cultural identity.

i agree with you too but in my opinion if you can follow whatever religion you want even if your dont have a genetic history of being that religion. also im not and orthodox jew so maybe thats why i believe that. i also agree mila kunis is one hot mama!:icon_pelv:icon_pelv

you probably met an orthodox jew. and also its not a vegetarian diet. it might be similar to one but its called keeping kosher. no mixing milk and meat. also you can eat most shellfish and some other rules i dont know because i dont keep kosher.

once again i will explain this. most kids who are born in to a family where one parent is jewish will sometimes call themselves "half-jewish" while not actually practicing any part of the jewish religion. the only reason i used that term is so jakedaskater could understand without me totally bashing that he technically isnt a jew. and to answer your question judaism is a religion but some people think its a nationality because israel is the jewish homeland and some people make the mistake of thinking because of that only jewish people live in israel. about 75% of people who live in israel are jewish but the other 25% are other religions like arab or muslim.
