Ferrari is an Italian sports car manufacturer based in Maranello, Italy. Apparently is making a bid for the skateboarding industry, and in turn, has created their first ''new school'' skateboard available from the Ferrari website.

The complete for the board is $173.13! On the website, the product detail is:
The Ferrari skateboard features a seven-layer Canadian maple board and stretches 79 cm by 20 cm. The Grip Tape on the upper surface (with Ferrari logo) is coated in an anti-slip material to improve grip. A stunning Ferrari red finish, the Italian tricolour and the Prancing Horse logo adorn the underside. The skateboard also has black 54 x 36 mm polyurethane wheels custom moulded with a red stripe. The Ferrari skateboard comes in a stylish red nylon carry bag too.

So with that bag, maybe you can justify paying the extremely high price for the board...but then again, have you seen a price for one of their cars recently, kinda suits the company fine!

Johnny16tx made a thread on this lol, but with less information so nevermind.

I think of it more as something for ferrari product collectors rather than for skaters. ALthough I do kind of wonder of it's quality.

My board cost me around 180 dollars, but that comes with great components. Here, you get something from Ferrari. Nice cars but what the hell do they know about making boards? They don't even show a specs. list. Very unprofessional. The deck is made out of Canadian Maple, so that might be alright, but we have no clue about what glue they use. It's probably something Ferrari collectors would buy...

Cheers =)

Well its HOT off the presses, so its why its here :p

Um, I think i'm $173 short of the $173.13 its supposively worth! The fact that they don't say who made the trucks and wheels really makes me wonder what your paying for, lol

Probably the brand name.

"Hey look, i got the ferrari skateboard! It'll go as fast as the cars!"

I swear I can see yuppies eating this up, i have to agree with swordman that is probably because of the name

It is quite doubtful that they are making a move to the skateboarding industry. Ferrari, along with every other car company, makes a ****load of non-automobile memorabilia with their name on it. As I posted in the other thread...

I doubt Consolidated will give a **** because this is just ferrari memorabilia that would only appeal to ferrari owners when it's Christmastime and they're out of ideas for what to buy their kid because they spent too much time on the golf course or in the office as opposed to spending it with their kids.

*huge breath*

It's not like Ferrari is launching a skateboarding division, marketing it in every skateboarding magazine, signing pros, and doing demos.

They also have skis, bikes, and other sports related equipment on their with their name plastered all over it. I haven't yet heard of the Ferrari takeover in those sports.

Sheesh.

I would take that ride to a garage and get the grills, NOS and every other detail on that ferrari, then I would street race all the other skaters for pinks :P

I wonder how good they are...I would get one, but that's way too much for a skateboard. Plus, even if you do buy it and it turns out bad, you just wasted over 150 dollars.

But I'm still cirious.

I just e-mailed Ferrari's customer service and they confirmed that it is not an attempt to enter into the skateboarding industry, they just wanted to make a memorabilia product like the other sports products with the Ferrari name on it.

Interesting move from Ferrari, but I don't think it will hold good. The only thing I would buy from Ferrari is a car, but they cost way too much.

i doubt ferrari's customer service would be so knowledgable to tell everyone.
let's get a copy of the email.
Not to bash you Shred, but I just can't believe Ferrari would admit that.

Why cant you believe it. It not bad to say the product is just for collecting not to enter the skate market.

Hmmm... I think ferrari should stick to making cars, not skates. I seriously doubt you can skate it. Do a couple of ledges and stairs=it is broken. Maybe it's good to have it like a statue in my living room, lol. Looks interesting.
