Hey guys, looks like I'll be moving from Columbus, Ohio to Portland in the near future and wanted to hear about the scene from the locals. I've heard that skating is pretty tolerated there, which sounds awesome.

I've heard of Burnside before, but what else is worth noting? This website (http://www.dreamlandskateparks.com/glenhaven2.html) has a couple nice parks listed. Are they still running?

Thanks!

The project in plan right now is to get 19 or something local skateparks and "skatespots" going in the near future. There's good parks in tigard, tualatin, hillsboro, beaverton, battleground washington has a crazy nice park. Skating is by far the best way to get around downtown i think too. You don't have to be on the street like bikers but when it's clear they're great to mob downhill. oh and the hills, lots of hills if you bomb.

Portland is one of the few places where the city actually cares about skateboarders, as shredderface mentioned, they're building tons of spots and parks in the near future. Glenhaven's kinda in the ghetto but the parks pretty sick
hahahaha

So yeah dude, trust me, I skate p town all the time, and every time is just as fun as the last.
Most people are actually pretty chill with skateboarding, so long as you aren't really ****ing up their property
Like any other place, just be respectful, pick up your trash, you know.

AND COME SKATE HR WITH ME WHEN YOU GET HERE

And don't smoke duct tape.
hahah
there's a slim chance shredderface will get that.

When you move to portland, check out the department of skateboarding.
Sick indoor park right next to a skateshop.
