Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness...they lied
Franklin smiles to me from my pockets,
he bought my suit and top hat,
he makes some decisions hard,
but that's alright because my wallet's fat
For me, only name brands from the grocery store,
and a house of furnished wooden doors,
a maid cleaning after me and a wife doing laundry
My cell phone, my laptop, my SUV, 9 bedroom home,
my HD TV screen, and the girls in my magazines
all make my life worth living
I'll collect my interest forever,
turn over the estate to my son,
and I know i'll be content until the day that I decide
in quiet dignified sleep is how i'll die

Let me know.

If materialism makes you happy, then it does buy all the happiness in the world.

Money couldn't buy me happiness.
If I always had money, I'd never be free.

I agree. My fear here is that some people will think i'm materialistic (is that a word?).

Hahaha. That really is not meant in this poem. What this poem is about, is not about its content, but about how it's told. It's meant to be written in a arrogant way, like a person tooting their own horn. It's trying to say that money may make you happy, but it won't make you a good/likeable person.
