Recently, I read an interesting article on the amount of Pools that have opened up to skaters throughout the world due to the economic slowdown. When people enter foreclosure, there is a $1000 a day fine if they DO NOT drain their pools. So once they do, its skateboard heaven, and this article explains it all!

California should be paying skaters to empty and clean the pools. At the very least they should NOT be fining them for trespassing. The skaters are doing a public service and having a good time at it.

I'll get bashed for this but.... :) I'm old I can take it. Reminds me of the movie Gleaming the Cube when they would go up in an air plane looking for empty pools. Now all you have to do is drive around the neighborhood.

Sucks for me now that I'm out in WV... I miss CA sometimes.

I coud not use them because we dont have pools like that in norwegian :(:(:(.. If i were in the USA i coud try it :):):)

I think most people go for the rounded because having straight sides are more expensive. I guess you live in a nice neighborhood.

that is pretty amazing. I would be more then willing to get some friends together to drain someones pool just so we could skate it. I probably only skated a pool once in my life.

Not really, but i've never seen a bowl shaped swimming pool in the netherlands.

That is pretty crazy, i know that pools which aren't kept up with can harbor lots of insects. Not to many of those here in Wisconsin though. just indoor bowl skatin.
