not that this isn't amazing, but it would have been cooler if he was bombing a steep ass hill with no handle bar to hold on to and then hit 74 miles per hour.

still, that's scary **** going 74!

Hot damn, I wouldn't want to take a tumble at that speed.

Danny's the man.

it'd been cool if he let go of the bar and drifted for like a mile

Yeah, I wonder what the fastest is on a skateboard without being pulled by anything, like a car or other vehicle.

guys have broken that record on big hills. it's just that guiness requires something like 3 verifiable sources to "officially" give out the world record...which, due to some unlucky circumstances, never happened. actually, this whole danny way thing was quite a joke among the downhill community. hell, he didn't even have a proper board to get speed on...he just had a big, flat plank.

good for Danny. he always tries to push the envelope. probably one of the all time greats of skating. Who else can say they jumped the great wall of china, or has gone 74 mile and hour on a skateboard.

I can't deal with speed wobbles at low speeds, i'd cry at that speed...

I don't get it. If you can set the "world's fastest skateboard" record while being pulled by a car, couldn't I set the fastest sofa on wheels record doing the same thing? Just seems stupid to me; I've never been a big Danny Way fan. The guy can skate (obviously) but I often get the vibe that he's skating for glory rather than fun.

like i said in previous posts, the entire downhill skateboard community collectively laughed at danny way because they had been breaking that "record" for years, but due to some weird guiness book restrictions, they haven't been able to get into the world records. for example, 2007's downhill race at teutonia, brazil, racers were regularly hitting 75mph. guiness was on hand, but their tracking devices mysteriously malfunctioned or something...many of the racers had GPS units on them or their boards, to get a measurement of how fast they were going. i think the 2008 teutonia event also had guiness in attendance, but the entire event was rained out.
