Default What's your favorite local hill and why?

Here is a street about two blocks from my front door. The top section has just enough pitch to shoot me in to the dogleg at a speed that is too fast for a safe and easy bailout, even if I carve loops across it. Then, the bottom section opens up enough to have some serious fun before an uphill section to slow me down. I try to pump as much of the uphill section as I can then turn and skate back up the bigger hill so I don't have so far to walk for another run at the steeper hill.

There is an occasional car to contend with along with the parked vehicles so it sometimes requires bombing it to avoid getting hit.

I'm sure some folks out there have some that are actually kinda sick, this one's pretty easy. Let's see where you let it run!

I live on a road called "House or Hills Road" so I got a lot of hills on my road that I love to bomb.

There are some decent hills near my home but they're all too short or too gentle to be much fun. The steep one is very short, while the long one is very gentle. About the funnest one is a small, short windy road that's fun for doing basic hands-down stuff on.\

The really nice hills are, alas, not near enough for me to skate to.

my best hill is The Eigenthall in kriens switzerland
it's over 5 kilometers long, served by the bus, gnar trafic on the weekend, 6 hairpins, 4 90's, perfect new pavment through forest and cow pasture, has over 1000 foot drop, and ends going through a 300 year old covered wooden brige!

I skate most of the way to school of a morning and on the lats 4-5 hundred metres is a nice chilled out hill I love bombing. Probably the best thing about school mornings actually. Though in the holidays I go to the coast where my family has a holiday house tyoe thing, there are that many gnarly hills there I lose count of them driving around the block. Going so fast you think nothing could possibly go right is the best feeling, only is does go right ofcourse, haha.

sure everyone's seen this but http://vimeo.com/1654340

i have enough fun descending it on my bike, wouldn't even go near it with a board. Its much much gnarlier than it looks in the video, and it looks pretty damn gnarly in the vid heh.

any relationship that matters - a friendship, a family, a romance, a band - anything - is a perilous and fragile thing because along with all the amazing experiences and creations that can come from something so intimate and exhausting comes the possibility for things to crumble and shatter or whither and die. when that happens, it's easy to forget what was precious amidst all the disaster. we should always carry our history with us but never let it bury us.
