I have been a die hard Liverpool fan for 20 years and i have to say this is the worst Liverpool side i have ever seen. I'd like to know how any team thinks they can win the league or make the top 4 with only 1 Striker. Its a sad time to be a Liverpool fan.

Liverpool are to be sold to the owners of the Boston Red Sox baseball team.

But the takeover by the New England Sports Ventures requires resolution of a legal dispute with the Reds' American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

The Premier League hopes to "complete all the necessary processes by Friday 8 October so the sale can proceed".

So, I heard about this awhile back and now it looks like it is going to happen. What are the thoughts across the pond about some of us yanks buying the Reds? Honestly the Reds have always been my favorite team and they currently really suck. I'm hoping this can turn them around... but I have no idea how it could do that specifically other than just things changing in general.

Well Liverpool was already owned by Yanks, These yanks aren't really gonna change a thing. Americans think as teams as "franchises" more then clubs witch tends to piss a lot of fans off.

Sergio Ramos on Twitter (no joke) :

"The trophy didn't fall, it simply jumped off the bus to greet all the fans below"

I went to Old Trafford last wednesday. I cannot believe I actually witnessed John O'Shea captain a champions league semi-final team and Anderson scored twice. What was that about?

Dear Chelsea. Better luck next year.

Deal Liverpool, Consider yourself knocked off the perch.

    Regards,

    Sir Alex.

This is what happens when your team is owned by the Boston Red Sux organization. Thanks for The Curse of The Bambino

I think it's unfair to blame the ownership, Dalgliesh has done an amazing job bringing the team back up to 5th, but the team you see now results from long before the new owners.

Also Utd's success is down to probably the greatest managerial stints of all time, I'm not sure if we will ever see a period of management like this ever again. Love him or hate him Fergie is incredible.

Back to 5th meh, everyone has a bad year or two here and there. Three - five years ago the Reds went deep in to the Champions League playoffs several times. I still sense a disconnect between the new management and the players is to blame for some of the debacle.

I did. Despite being disappointed you kinda saw it coming. Barca are so good, I don't think anyone would have competed with them.

Final was good to watch, dislike both teams, but still a spectacle!

    Messi is football.

It was good but disappointing to see manchester get killed that badly, even though I liked barcalona better anyway.
