I've been trying to learn the kickflip lately. I've been practicing for about a week & I was wondering how long it took you to land your first kickflip?
It took me about 5 or 6 months to get them consistent and moving, and they're still not that high. But everyone learns at a different pace, try not to get frustrated with them, they can take some time.
I seem to be learning at a very fast pace. I've already learned how to ollie, shuveit, nollie shoveit. So far I'm not getting full rotation of the board.(Its landing with the trucks facing up) But I'm sure if I keep practicing I will get it sooner or later.
a very, very long time.
2 years, but once I landed one I had them like 9 out of 10 right after.
Every me and every Hsu.
ill let you know,, just started!
(also im trying to get 15 posts so i can post photo of my board sorry)
it took me about a week but i still cant do them very well and i ve been skating for 5 years now
i can dotre-flips better then my kickflips
It took me no time.
Because I can't do it.
It probably took me a few months. Make sure you're learning them while moving. Don't even waste your time learning them stationary because you'll just have to relearn them moving. No sense in learning the same trick twice now is there?
I got them a year after starting skating but im not sure how long it took me from when i started trying.
It took me about 5 months on and off a lot.

http://www.skaterscafe.com/showthread.php?t=68269 Feel free to share, those of you who actually skate.
If it makes you feel better I havent landed a single kickflip since I started skating and I have been skating for a long time..
Goals for this season
when I first learned kickflips my board would always turn into a varial flip first couple of weeks until I learned to straighten it out I would say 2 and half weeks for me
Still working on them, for 2 months so far.
