    Default Canterbury scene (Prog music)

Who here is in love with the Canterbury scene? If you don't know what I'm taking about, check out the wiki since I'm too lazy to paraphrase. I'm worried not many people are as into as me so this thread might die, but give some of the music a listen and see if you don't enjoy them.

I really hope this thread doesn't die. This music is just wonderful.

I've heard of this music referred to as "Progressive Rock," Anonymous Man. Looks like you've delved into some things I have heard of but have yet to listen to. I'm enjoying the links!

It is progressive rock, but the Canterbury scene is more of a sub-genre. It was a group of bands and musicians that lived in Canterbury, Kent. Many of the musicians are in a lot of different bands that were within Canterbury. I guess I should have linked the wiki ha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canterbury_scene

Thank you for your contribution, Noj I've heard some of Gentle Giant and a lot of Frank Zappa. I also enjoyed the other bands you posted, I'll look into them more.

Well on the note of progressive rock/metal and related to Undertow ^

Could just make this thread for progressive music in general. A mod can change the thread title to something more appropriate.

I thought Tool was doing a PoS cover. I was about to give them respect.
