    Default Trusted Installer

Can someone please tell me a solution to this horrible thing? I'm trying to delete a version of Virtual PC that I don't need anymore but I can't because it's owned by Trusted Installer. Now, before you jump on the google train, I've googled as much as I could and the only solution I found was the one I tried in the first place and that was to go into the Security tab and change the permission settings. Well I tried changing them but here's the kicker, Trusted Installer won't let me apply the changes.

    wtf

Control panel > add or remove programs > remove virtual PC.

Theres no way it can override that.

dont take my word for it though.

It's not even under the list of programs. And I can't run as administrator because I can't even access the file let alone the program.

Is there an uninstall option in the folder that launches it from the programs menu under the program launch shortcut? I've actually just gone and deleted a whole folder from the hard drive programs folder more than once when I came across a similar situations. However, I was ready to re-image the hard drive if it hosed up other stuff. In my case deleting the whole folder worked..

You have to make sure that you go into every single part of the Security section and apply yourself as the owner. Like... push every button there is and whenever a window pops up with user permissions or whatnot, apply yourself as the owner and have full access (read+write). Hopefully you get what I mean lol.

That's what I did originally, Nitro. But I was able to find the program aside from the folder and uninstall. Thanks for the suggestions.

Start > Run > Type: regedit > Press OK

    HKEY Local Machine

    Software

Right Click on the folder (either Virtual PC, or Trusted Installer), then either go to permissions for each tier and change what you need to, to allow access, or just delete the folder in its entirety , and restart your pc.

Thanks, Mike. If I ever run into this problem again I'll try your method.
