Haha I saw that too. It's pretty true. But, I don't mind when people only know rbf or streetlight. It makes me happy when people even know what ska is.

This is true, I always get confused when I try to explain ska to people. "Well... it's got horns... sometimes it's poppy... Reggae came from it... Bob Marley.."

Love these guys, too bad they're not on itunes anymore. I scooped up a few of their albums while I could.

    Song really starts around 1:16.

TRIPLE POST MADNESS. Thought this deserved a post in here, as well. This thread needs to come back.

"After years of just watching clips of this band online, they finally released an album

For anyone wondering about them, the lead singer, Parker Jacobs, is MC Bat Commander's (of the AQUABATS) older brother. And for anyone who knows the Aquabats mythos, Parker Jacobs is also Professor Monty Corndog. What else can I add? They were started BEFORE the Aquabats, and the song Idiot Box is one of theirs. That's about it. Enjoy their awesomeness."

Who else is playing? I might go to the first stop of Streetlight's upcoming tour in NYC, before the new album comes out.

Less Than Jake is playing two hours away from me, and the Facebook event only has 20 people attending. My friends think they'll be a no show because the promoter sucks.

The Toasters are the ****. Just as well as Mepheskapheles.

I want to thank you all for making me realise how much I like ska. I've always liked No Doubt, but I never heard much of their really ska stuff. Some of the more recent stuff is more pop now, which I still like because they're cool. Anyway, I especially like Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra now

No Doubt stopped being ska when Tragic Kingdom came out, which is when they really hit the mainstream. Tokyo Ska is amazing, but I couldn't find any of their albums for download anymore, so I just torrented everything they released up to around 2009.

Yeah I had a look for them, there was one album on iTunes which didn't have any of the songs I liked. Pretty gutted about that. No Doubt carried a little of the ska element on, but I definitely wouldn't class them as a ska band anymore.
