having the same board isn't that big a deal the crew I skate with has mostly Clutch PTG's/Jeffersons and Earthwing Belly racers because SWB topmounts rule the the tight confines of the graveyard we skate

Oh, so freestyle is what used to be "dancing" I guess. I always thought dancing sounded a little effeminate, even if it was awesome to watch. And you could definitely nollie and fakie shuv a Supermodel, LuDawg. I pull off cross step to shuv it combos on my Comet FSM all the time and it has a similar sized nose. Just takes a little practice to get down.

Yeah I was thinking of getting the super shaka but it still is like 30 bucks more expensive than the doppler.

Waited all day for UPS, around 5 I started thinking "Guess they aren't coming today." I felt a slight vibration, which I have come to associate with that big brown truck rumbling up my street, low and behold they were backing into my driveway. Sitting on my bed is my new board, just have to wait for the grip to come in the mail and I'm gonna set this thing up. I'm excited just to have it, though. Haha

He had one left, I took what I could get since I didn't want to wait. Haha Good news is I decided I'm just going to go for another set of Randal's, and I'm looking at some Abec 11 wheels, as well.

Flashbacks will carve better Freerides with slide a little better but its hard to go wrong with Flashies 81a classic thane rules

I was looking at 84a gumballs, not too hard, not too soft. I'm on 78a kryptos, right now.

Edit: I'm jealous of your blue Jerk.

Nooo Gumballs will chuck you, the lip is the wrong shape. And they are slow (lots of thane depth). Classic Bigzigs or the 77mm Freerides (AKA Strikers) if you want a big wheel, stay with 81a, 84a chatters

Hmmm, the flashback do look pretty nice... I don't really need a slidey wheel, I'm not going to be doing any tech sliding at all. I'll get some of Kraffft's UHMW wheels when I want to do some of that. Haha

I have a Tech slide board that I haven't touched, except to move around my garage, in more than 2 years. But on my freeride boards I have been through a set of Snowballs, a set of Drifters and about 1/3rd the way through a set of Sidewinders. You want a wheel you can slide so you can control speed and more importantly stop when you need to

I tend to ride hills with no traffic and multiple ways to safely bail out so I pretty much never have to slide or speedcheck.

yeah the bulk of my riding is on closed or restricted roads, but learning to slide prevents the need to bail in many cases, makes it easier to go faster not to mention it gives you another tool when dealing with Mr Murphy. I'm not saying you need to learn all the various trick slides 4 tricks a anyone who downhill should work on. Stand up Toesides and Heelsides, Pendy's and Colemans (hands down toesides and heelsides). Those are tools that make you skating safer

I shot this the first day I stepped back on my DH board after breaking my ankle a year prior. As you can see there really isn't any reason to to slide in this place and the traction available is phenomenal but the faster you go the more drifting is likely and drifting is essentially controlled sliding while turning

I can never be bothered to buy real longboard parts. I use a skinny popsicle deck I got for free, some Gullwing Alpines, and random Sector 9 wheels. I can still slide but it's pretty sketchy.
I kind of want to upgrade to the Earthwing Supermodel with some Indy 215's and new bushings.

It seems like every graveyard has some good hills. My favorite hill in town is a short, but very fast and curvy one in a graveyard by the local middle school. I should post buttboard footy of the giant hill in town I am way too chicken to tackle, right now. Haha
