Default Getting out of my funk

So, I forced my self to go out at golden hour, and take some pictures. I feel good about these. Comments and opinions, finally back to digital too

Above the lakes, above the vales,
The mountains and the woods, the clouds, the seas,
Beyond the sun, beyond the ether,
Beyond the confines of the starry spheres,
My soul, you move with ease

    So little depends
    upon

    a red plastic
    car

    sitting abandoned
    alone

    next to some metal
    thing

I found these photos very interesting especially the first one (I enjoy the lack of color),
the one with the wooden gate and the colorful glass (vitro?) frame,
and finally the one with your shoes, always found worn out shoes artistic (in my eyes they represent having a good time with your life)

    good work! keep it up!

I like the 3rd and 8th ones. Have you ever tried photoshop (or gimp)? I think some work with curves and maybe a vintage look could really bring out your gloomy look. Boosted contast can't hurt either. Good subject matter as well. I think its pretty cool
P.S I like the colors in the last one. A little over-exposed sky. And underexposed foreground. Maybe move the other stuff out of the way and just capture the reflection, sky, and birdhouse? Bump the saturation a little and a washed out effect is what I would do. But that's just me.

this is the only one I see with a "subject". the others, in my brutal opinion, have too much action spread unevenly. like take this picture for example

Looking at this picture, you see a bit of snow, but only in one spot, then there's nothing happening to the bottom half at all, just dirt and leafs. then you have the mountian, but its partially blocked by the house. there's nothing really interesting in the sky, so your eyes just wonder around and move on.

With the first picture I pointed out, of the highway and doorway, that has a subject of the stained glass and wooden doorway. There is an equal amount of nothing going on in the foreground and an equal amount of activity down below on the road. all around good picture in my opinion.

That's a pretty shady looking gas station

The last shot is nice, but if the car wasn't there it would be better.
