Congrats on the new vehicle for your girl. This will ensure she gets to drive it!

    Thanks.

Her APR is ridiculous. It's 20%. She only did 1.75k down though and her payments are pretty low. Mine would be worse. My credit is worse than hers so I'd probably have to buy right out. My matrix is breaking 170k miles soon. It's an '03.

I'll put the Joker laughs on loop next time I try to drive the thing. I stalled like 10 times and going into reverse the first time was insane. I got a friend who'll help me out though.

I may even trade in and get a car there myself.
i bought myself an ss commodore v8 6 speed manual, for my 21st birthday except i didn't know ho to drive one either but i wasn't going to buy and auto v8..

so i got my friend to drive it through the city in sydney while i drove in my toehr car behind him. i ended yp getting him to pull over on the freeway so i could drive along that for four hours getting used to it..

it was scary driving it at first but best way to learn by just throwing yourself in there..

I did. I jumped in, backed out of the spot and stalled the car. Then I put it back in the spot and stalled it again. I'm a badass.

I strongly doubt no one has ever stalled learning to drive standard.

You really need to learn to drive a stick with another experienced stick driver, doesn't take long that way-hour or two tops. It isn't bright to go for it solo and risk wrecking a vehicle you just purchased, and also putting others on the roads (and sidewalks haha) at risk.

The only thing that could make it worse is trying to do so in a hill infested area like San Francisco. Sorry for the embarrassment, but you definitely made the right call to abort in that situation.

I learned to drive a stick in my husband's 67 Beetle when we were dating. He got it from his Grandpa, and he had bought it new. So, he was the second owner. He did a cool paint job on it and fixed it up. He had it forever, and finally sold it a few years ago.

We've also owned a 99 Beetle, and an 03 Beetle. We're huge Volkswagen fans. Congrats on the car! I like that color yellow.

    I'd go for it^
I have a 98 explorer with about 170k miles and it's still running strong. Hasn't needed anything major. Replaced the thermostat, 130$, and i put new suspension in it but it didn't need it. Just look at it before you make the purchase. Check the rocker panels, mine are rotted out but there's a plastic piece that covers it so you have to look under it.

The few times I've driven my dads car (which is a stick shift) in traffic were just hell. I think you'll eventually get used to it though.

Naw, it always sucks in traffic...
    First gear..................
    Second gear yippeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Back to first gear....................................
    Repeat for 45 minutes....

The open roads, especially winding mountain roads, are a total blast though!

She's pretty close to everything where she lives so hopefully won't have to suffer thriught that too much hah. The way traffic gets by me though, I could probably ride the clutch to my destination.

We should be getting it today. Hopefully.
