Default When do I know I need new shoes?

I feel like my shoes I've been using for a few months aren't gripping the board anymore on the spot where I slide for ollies.

Get some Roger Bros brake soles and shoe goo them on if your sole is worn away, otherwise throw them out. My first pair of Carroll Selects I skated into the ground. The ollie area was completely gone after a session at this ridiculous DIY park, and I tried frankensteining them back together with the toe cap I cut off a pair of old Vans..

Yeah, the toe area is Frankensteined. I think I'll just start using another pair.

I usually skate my shoes until theres nothing left to shoe goo/duct tape back in place. You would be surprised to see how much shoe goo/duct tape can fix. It's not glamorous but a shoe goo/duct tape combo can extend the life of a shoe for a really long time.

That's exactly what I was gonna say! You don't even notice until after you're done skating lol

Usually when you do a trick, and the griptape rips your sock and cuts your toe, or when the bottom of the shoe starts coming off. And sometimes I use duct tape to hold my shoes together.

I've had that happen. Not a good experience because my board was stained... :P

I just shoe goo the sole part of the shoe and it seems to hold up nicely for me. The way I keep my shoes lasting long is by putting shoe goo first thing after you get them. I put shoe goo every one or two sessions so it builds up and becomes stronger and stronger. This seems to hold up for me...

My DC pair I never wear. I shoegooed this a while back and it's still there. I do skate these sometimes so I do wear it a little.

These shoes are really ugly now since I mixed painter's tape, silicone and shoe goo in them:

My Lakais are holding up pretty good, I skate every time almost and they are the first shoe that isn't bulky and holds up like a tank. Both toe caps are in one piece finally.

Unless your shoes look worse than my DC's, there is no reason to replace them.

Also, in case you were wondering when your shoelaces need to be tied.

    When your shoelaces become untied.

People on the internet are completely helpless, it's a widely known fact. Am I hungry? Should I eat something? Disregard the fact that I legitimately replied to this thread..

Kickflips and 360 flips are ****

We were all off our faces on mushrooms when we recorded Plug In Baby... There was this big field next to the recording studio filled with them. So we ate them all. I don't know what we were doing, but we all ended up naked in a jacuzzi and I went deaf in one ear from falling asleep in the sauna... Matt Bellamy
