It's not dead. It just smells funny.

The hack really fucked it up, like 80% of the active members stopped posting after the first wave of the hack.

We should all get SkatersCafe stickers and put them around parks and stuff.

    ^No.

I don't really see a point in bringing in new members when most of our current members barely discuss skating or even skate anymore. Skater's café hasn't been about skating in a long while. It's just a hang out now.

I think it would be OK to get stickers or cards with the logo and url. However, I agree that just slapping them on signs and railing posts isn't as good as just handing them to peeps we actually know a little bit that seem like the kind of folks that would fit in well here.

I stepped on a board less than a month ago, but I'm strictly an occasional cruiser now.

I cruise when it's warmer but that's about it. I'm not too active here either but that's only because I've been busy. I don't think forums in general are going away, I think it's just that skateboarding is moving away from forums and sticking to more media driven formats like youtube and magazines/websites. Generally there isn't much point in asking general skating questions on a forum when there is a 99% chance that question has been explained in a youtube video, and most people will google a video first anyways.

Either way this place still isn't as dead as some places I used to go to. The hacking really did take a toll on the activity here though.

the reason i don't really post too much here is that there is NO skate talk. I still log in and lurk daily, but don't feel the need to talk about random stuff
