    Default SilverFish Shutting Down?

Rumor has it the fish is (soon to be) dead. Welcome to all the minnows and sharks who want to join here. Make yourselves at home, just no hassling other folks. Pretty simple, keep it positive. Cheers!

I don't think it a rumor when Malakaikingston posts, but what ever.
I'd like the booth over there by the window.
I'll have a coffee, 2 eggs sunny side up, hashbrowns, and wheat toast... light on the butter please.
    This place seem surprisingly familiar.

No "edit" button? I forgot to order the corn beef hash with my breakfast.

I'm also wondering where's SF's Bucksaw87? I was told that he hangs out here.

You will see one bottom right of the post to the left of "reply" and "reply with quote" when you have more reputation points and days active.. Not sure exactly when that kicks in but it will eventually. Also, there is no active admin here, only the site owner who checks in about once a month, sometimes more. Moderators can edit your post if you flag it with instructions. Almost everyone here is a moderator hahahaha..

El Buckarino checking in! I didn't realize that I joined up here before I joined at Silverfish. I'm apparently one of the only active posters who isn't a mod...

Thanks fellas. I'm having breakfast in the booth by the window. Thank you for the hospitality.

Hey @rockst*r, thanks for replying. Good to see a familiar face.

I didn't realize that SF's platform was standardized. When I joined last night I had no idea how familiar this place would look.

Yeah, there's only a few odd software managers for forums; VBulletin being what Silverfish uses, as well as SkatersCafe, and most of the Consumer Review (MTBR, Roadbikereview) network. The now-defunct Ramprage.com was, if I remember correctly, run by one of the VBull developers...so, he used that as a testbed for a lot of new features.

So, do we have an ETA on when SF is going dark?

On a side note, I was scouring the site this morning (at like 3am...I'm currently sicker than a dog and had to call into work today) and found a bunch of contact info, including a landline number and a mailing address, for Silverfish. I had no idea how intense their setup is! The address points to a stripmall in San Diego, just one block from the beach. I knew EBasil was, at one point, a lawyer, but I have no idea what Kai does for money. I thought he was a journalist for a living, but if he ran the site as a living, it's fairly easy to see why he'd want to hang it up if not enough money is coming in...Rus at Soda Factory made a similar comment, and Brian from Earthwing has dropped the full-time skateboard gig and gone back to a "grown up" job after longboarding shit the bed a few years back.

User dubman is having issues registering here...he's having trouble receiving a new account confirmation email. I believe he's been in contact with NoSwitch, but still isn't having any luck.

TCOG's in the house! Glad to be here, I hope to see more familiar faces soon. I'm just a drifter from the 'fish, too.

    Welcome aboard, all!

So, I was futzing around on Silverfish and found this old CLB prototype slide deck.

I was going to help Julian at Chicagolongboards design it and stuff, but then he flipped his shit and skipped the country.

It's looking like the site owner here has a block on overseas IP addresses. We had horrible spammer attacks before he did that. Sorry to say he doesn't check in here all that often so folks across the pond might not have much luck signing up here.. And, only he has the ability to review the registrations that are pending. Moderators can only manage posts and threads, no ability to edit member data at all other than banning trouble makers..

It's gone. A little after 6:00pm Eastern, the site went dark.

Now, a eulogy from one Mr. Michael Brooke:
