I'm trying to get better at hand-lettering. Can I do anything in the way of drills to improve my hand stability?

It's not that I'm twitchy or vibrating, it's that I write like an engineer - short, singular strokes. Instead of writing a smooth, flowing M, I'll physically write 4 strokes: / \ / \ As a result, once I get a line longer than a quarter inch or so, my hand just doesn't have the proper muscle memory to stabilize itself. So, I'm mostly looking for anything that'll help me build that muscle memory and draw long, flowy things (instead of short, staccato lettering).

I'll keep at it...I've been journalling lately, at the recommendation of my therapist (way last spring, when I was in a pretty dark place), and writing cursive forces me to really think about what I'm writing. I'm still struggling with a few of the capital letters, but as long as I'm slow and deliberate with the cursive, it'll come out pretty smooth.

Try "flowing" with each strike of the pen/can, quick full strokes.

Its sad to have seen this Site die, I had really good memories in the early 2000's of this place.
Plus I've progressed a ton in Graffiti!
