I think I finally figured out why Mike hasn't pulled the plug on this place. Some of it is just because we still come here to chat about life. I suspect a lot of it is because this was such a huge part of his life through his teens. It's like that deck hanging on the wall that we just can't bring ourselves to throw out.. Dogtown passed it on to Mike instead of throwing it away. I'm sure it means a lot more to you folks in your 20s and early 30s than it does to me. But I do appreciate the friendships here. Watching you navigate your teens from a distance will help me read my own kids, now in high school. Anyway, thanks Dogtown and Mike for keeping the deck on the wall out of the trash.

Last weekend, we went to a friend's wedding...this most recent weekend, some different friends from the wedding came by our house on the way to Chicago. Had a bonfire as well, with branches from the neighbor's tree. It's been incredibly busy.

It's a tough grind to travel like that week in, week out, year after year. But, you'll almost never be bored when your feet are on the ground walking around checking out new places.
