It's interesting that I was listening to back episodes of "The Freestyle Podcast" today and back issues came up along with the issue of aging:

Lillis has had problems with herniated disks to the point of surgery and in this he discusses different forms of stretching etc.

Speaking of jobs, it looks like I'm being drafted into working the music festival in california called Desert Trip next month. It's bob dylan, neil young, the who, rolling stones, and two more. This is going to be insane.

My back is already feeling a lot better, it was mostly just a 48 hour thing. I had plans to go skating on Saturday so I think I might still go and just cruise/take it easy.

That sounds sick as hell Trevor!

The interview went super well yesterday. The job was slightly different then I was expecting but I haven't made a decision either way yet. There's a few pros and a couple cons that stand out! I really want this damn job at William and Mary but I'm sure it's super competitive so I shouldn't bank on that!

Trev, you are turning in to a carnie for music festivals! How is the travel expenses work for a Cali show? Will you still end up with close to the same take home pay you'd get for a local show or do you pay for the travel, or something in between??

I don't listen to any of them but it's insane that I landed a job at a festival of that magnitude. No idea what I did to deserve that offer. It's not exactly a stress-free position lmao but it'll be a cool experience, pays $20/hr too

No doubt that some of these classic tunes get played in Starbucks quite a bit.

I've seen The Who twice in the 80s, both "farewell tours" hahaha. Heard the Stones in my back yard when they played the college stadium a mile away. Seen the other half of Pink Floyd (Gilmour) also in the 80s.

I'd love to see any of them but just don't pay $100 to see over the hill bands in big outdoor venues.

It's funny I was just listening to "Quadraphenia" last night slightly stoned with my eyes closed trying to imagine how the final mix sounded in the control room loud over good monitors, getting enveloped in the full Quadrophonic mix. Even the tactile experience of the sound reverberating through the body.

No denying the songwriting skills, they wouldnt still be relevant names after multiple decades if they weren't. Just not my style of music, personally.

I did a bit of "Skater Community Service" yesterday. I was on my way home between clients and saw a college kid who was struggling with just pushing off and keeping his balance. I stopped and gave him some pointers and let him try my board as I had it strapped on my backpack and suggested him tightening his trucks as it would feel more stable and loosen them as he got better.

^that's sick! One time i was skating a street spot with some homies and these two little kids (who were by themselves, for some reason) were like so stoked on what we were doing so we gave them some of our backup boards and i (again, for some reason) had like six skate videos in my trunk so I gave them to them as well and they were so pumped on it haha.

On a separate note, I'm really worried about my beard. Hair loss is getting kinda insane. The spot that went bald back in march has seen like maybe 30% regrowth, but what has grown back is completely grey. Which is weird, but if it all grew back in, i could deal with a grey streak. What i'm not okay with, is as that spot is slowly growing back in, more has been falling out R A P I D L Y in other spots. There's one fingertip-sized spot that was completely full and normal less than a week ago that is baby-skin bald now. Since 10pm (3 hours ago) I've counted 40 hairs falling out, and that's just the ones I've caught falling out via seeing them caught on my shirt. I have felt a significant difference in how thick what was normal a few weeks ago is now, and i can see a visual difference as well. I've already tried every home remedy in the book and I already got steroid shots from my doctor a while back that's supposed to correct this shit. Just annoying, seeing as how of all the hair on my hairy-as-shit body, it's the one spot i care about the most that's falling out and turning grey. Idk. No idea why this is happening to me, no form of hair loss whatsoever runs on either side of my family. I'm wondering if it's thyroid related, because that does run in my family.

RevJ, no room in your back pack for a skate wrench? Could have tightened up the trucks, showed them how to do it at the same time..

Just turned down the position at the UPS Store, NoSwitch, you were pretty spot on about the hours and stuff. He wanted me to come in as a graphic designer/printer but also do the regular day-to-day stuff as well, which basically means I work more than everyone else haha. He also wanted me to go business-to-business trying to get business. I considered it for a few days but I just got off the phone and we were talking about everything and then I was just like... ehhhh I think I'm going to pass.

It was early in the morning so all of my synapses weren't fireing just yet so it didn't occur to me. I did show him the skate wrench I carry with me at all times though so now he knows what to look for and not need to have the dude at the skate shop who even though he has been skating for years only knows how he likes his board set up which was probably horrible for a newb.

I was just curious about how many calories skateboarding burned so I googled it and found this nifty website/calculator:

    http://www.fitday.com/webfit/burned/...eboarding.html

At 5'9", 165lbs, and 40 years old I found out I burn 284 calories per hour. My average session at this time is about 20 minutes so I'm burning about 95 calories a sesh.

I don't fear death. I fear dieing, but not death. Not that I want to die, but don't particularly want to live long. Somewhere in between having no responsibilitys and not shitting myself when I fart.
