No, they're not. We're getting a one (1) time stimulus check of less than the monthly cost of living, and that's about it. My roommate and I were both denied unemployment. There are no rent freezes and shit in most of the country. My stimulus check barely covers what I still owe in taxes from 2019, so it's just being mailed right back to them.

don't ever believe or expect that the American government will ever even have the intention of doing something positive for the citizens here man haha. Fucked country. don't know why anyone from other countries wants to live here. So far approximately zero of my friends in the music industry or just self employed friends in general have been approved for anything unemployment related.

All why I'll never vote republican again. Haven't this century. Obama almost had universal single payer healthcare passed until some asshole independent senator from Connecticut, the bit insurance state torpedoed it. We ended up with the ACA which republican governors sabotaged beyond repair. In spite of being a total egomaniac, Hillary would have had this shit way more under control. She wouldn't have fired the CDC Pandemic Response team that Obama built when he had to deal with H1N1 and Ebola outbreaks. The unemployment benefits wouldn't have been slashed the way they were recently either. Elections have consequences. Lessor of two evils really is what we have to hold our noses and swallow or we get this shit instead.

I very literally go "Seriously? why?" when someone from another country tries to move here or says they want to. Don't know why anyone would come here if they have another developed country as an option. You get **literally no benefits whatsoever** of being a citizen here. My father's bill for his 18 hour stay in the hospital after a heart attack was $80,000AUD. (did the conversion for ya). I had to pay $330AUD just to walk in the door of one of the "cheap" urgent care clinics to have a sore throat looked at a few months ago. University costs on average $44,000aud per year, for just like, a regular university......average cost of living is $33,000aud per year but full time minimum wage only pays $24,000aud per year (or $460aud per week since I know you guys do stuff weekly or something?). It's kind of a garbage place when you compare it to the rest of the "developed" countries. Will never understand why anyone comes here from places like Europe or Australia or Canada

I know there are worse places to live but like if people have options like **anywhere in europe** or Australia or Canada or NZ I like genuinely have no idea what advantages they think they have here haha. Lower taxes doesn't really mean much when you make significantly less and then also can't see a doctor and then also can't go to school and then also can't pay rent and then......

Your minimum wage yearly adds up to more money than I made touring and working at home combined last year lmao

I didn't want to tape my ankle and dig out the Kilian Martin board that is better suited for street skating.

    I know, kinda lazy.

Part of my boredom at work led me to look up old skate wear brands like Jimmy'z, Vision Street Wear and Life's a Beach. Some of them are still around and have designs that I'd still wear.

Yeah, I do in home caregiving and get paid by a government agency. My local minimum wage is $15.00 and hour but since I get paid by a government agency that only has to pay more than the state minimum wage I only make $14.80. I get no health insurance, no vacation, and 1 sick day a year. Before the contract got renegotiated I was making $13 an hour, and had no sick days.

I was out longboarding waterfront with buddies and found a free drift trike. Man those things are a blast!! I'm only working 3 days a week now so I've been going camping alot which is pretty refreshing to get away from societys shit.
I watched a good time traveling movie called " james vs his future self" I'd suggest giving it a shot if your bored. Hope yall are holdin' it down.
when you fall, you gotta get back up to land the trick.

@rockst*r: You posted a bit ago about having a gnarly cold in Dec-Jan with symptoms that matched Coronavirus. As research continues, it seems that's not out of the question.

I'll always wonder - until they develop an antibody test or something. But there's an interesting point in here that I've tried to address on my personal blog: There's so much conflicting information out there about this virus, which is doubly complicated by the bolded point above, that we're constantly learning about this and the dialog is changing hour by hour. I like to think of myself as a responsible consumer of newsmedia, but I'm just goin' crazy over here trying to keep up on what I need to know. A really good friend of mine, who was a nurse at a V.A. hospital, has flat-out said that at his place of work, they're not even entertaining the idea that CoViD-19 would've infected Americans before February - the Influenza B virus from Dec. and Jan. matches that same set of symptoms.

Anyway, I got all of my boards conditioned for the upcoming season...got all of the bearings cleaned and lubed with Archoil; the magical stuff inside Zealous bearings. And, I busted out the Veloz trucks that I beta tested for Silverfish and put 'em on one of their review boards (a Bareknuckle Ripper). I rode the Ripper for a little bit the first autumn I owned it...great little flexy board, with some awesome W concave. It reminds me a lot of an improved Loaded Vanguard.

My daughter had a wicked cough and fatigue, short breath and missed a week of school early January. Urgent care wouldn't test her for flu because she didn't have a fever when we went in... she was on cold and flu meds with Tylenol so duh.. Two days over a vaporizer full of Vicks solution is what brought her back to humanity. I got it late January. Wife got it mid February. It was a full 3 week affair for each of us to finally stop coughing entirely.

Lady I know got full blown pnemonia and upper respiratry infection that the hospital never completely diagnosed late November. She got it it right after a cruise... and get this.. the cruise shop had taken a lap around the China Sea full of Chinese tourists the week before she got on the same cruise ship. This lady lives near Charlotte, NC.. the place that happens to be the biggest outbreak around these parts now. Add in all the Chinese students and tourists coming and going while this was raging there but under our radar here.

Ya I'm not buying that it wasn't here until February. No fucking way...

And next fall, short of a good vaccine, this will be back way worse.. spreading like the regular flu spreads in flu season with people packed together inside to stay out of the cold unless we keep up this shutdown society stuff, even more. Only way we're going to have concerts and some non ball sharing sports is if everyone everywhere is wearing good masks.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the exchange rate is.

I made some Caribbean style fried chicken with red beans and rice last night:

Euro's a little over a buck per buck. So it would be about $70 before shipping.
