It's ambiguous. Made worse by the fact that some folks do their switch tricks off the nose instead of the tail. This weird kind of mental gymnastics actually resulted in my doing my first switch Ollie. I thought, "Well, I can Nollie, and I can fakie Ollie, so a switch Ollie is just a fakie Nollie." and then boom; a switch Ollie.

Maybe it's all in how you position your feet. Feet towards the opposite end of your board with respect to your direction of travel is switch; feet toward the same end of your board with respect to your direction of travel is fakie?

Ahh. I did get to work on learning what would work for me in that situation so that is good.

Cool! At least you get to go out. Between working today and my back being screwed up it looks like I'm not skating for a couple of more days.

All the skate gear chaos around the house seems to have gotten my 11 year old motivated to dig out her board. We rode around out front for about 15 minutes this evening. It was still hot as hell but totally worth it.

Cool man. I had today off and spent an hour or so fucking around. Then spent my afternoon drinking beer and playing bass.

I can't wait for my back to stabilize a bit more so I can get back to skating. I've been getting plenty of rest lately though.

Spent about 20 minutes today working on some fakie shit. Recently figured out that my fakie and switch is weak as hell. Landed a fakie tre as my final trick before going in and slammed into the road. Formed a blister like scrap on my finger. Weird shit.

That's awesome! Is it pretty stable/not wobbly when you're shredding on it?

You could have one for the price of a decent camera..

    http://www.freshpark.com/quarter-pipe.html

I wouldn't have paid that. I was walking around the back yard looking at the scraps leftover from a recent home addition to see if I could make some basic temporary DIY feature to mess with out front then decided to check Craigslist to see of anyone was giving any away or selling them cheap. There were several you can get if you have a large pick up or flatbed and lots of muscle to move it. Then I saw a kid selling this for $120 and Angels sang a beautiful chorus. Took a couple days of scheduling to meet up and get it in the back of my Forester but well worth it even for just a few hours of fun here and there.

No thanks. Sign the waiver and wear a helmet and have at it yourself!

Home alone this week. Wife and kids are on the summer road trip. I'll meet them in DC Friday night to do the mall and Smithsonian, again (Forest Gump voice). So, this week I get to pick my own meals with zero consideration for what the rest of the family likes. I wanted a salad tonight with the baked tater and pork chop and thinking a big fat burger tomorrow. But, ALAS, no tomato for salad OR burger. Took a little cruise up the block and around the corner to Food Lion for a tomato. All set now :-)

Took 4 runs on the longboard down the hill around the corner. Nothing to brag about but faster than I can run.

That's cool. I can't wait for my toe to be healed enough to skate again.
