hey man, you don't have to rush it, don't make it a competition
    start with some easy ones:
    kickflip
    pop shuv-it
    jumping down more stairs

    stuff like that

Definitely people progress at different speeds. It took me a while to get kickflips, but once I did a bunch of other tricks started happening for me. Just keep at it!

Dude you have got to relax. Skate for fun. Who cares if you progress. Skate for yourself. You are not progressing too slowly. Tricks you should learn are ollie higher, fakie pop shove it, fs shove its ect. Kickflips are good too but they might get frustrating.

No need to make skating a competition.
The only time that's alright is if you're using it as inspiration to learn more tricks and skateboard more. All that matters is that you're having fun.

Try to get what you already know clean and consistent, then try to get 180's both ways, FS shuvits, and work on kickflips.

The only way to get better at skating is to skate.

learn tres and get bigspins more consistent niiiig

yeah man, it took me 6 months to land kickflips somewhat consitently, but after you learn to catch the board, everything else just starts falling into place.

    ok ill try them
in all the posts your all just saying its for fun
    and it is
but it annoys me tons when he comes up to me and hes like just learnt a new trick
and i understand about after landing a kickflip

cause i have another friend who cant ollie and people just say to him that the first tricks ie ollies 180s pop shuvs are really hard because your just starting out but when your better tricks come so much easier

    and thats probably the case
    thanks everyone
i'm going to go learn kickflips
ill tell you if i land one
ive landed them into primo once
    yeah ouch

i know a kid who did a stationary shuv 2nd try ever. with no instruction.

dont pay attention to how other people are progressing, pay attention to your progress and try to have fun everyday.

you shouldn't look at what others can do, if you do skating becomes frustrating and less fun. just relax and enjoy skating.

yeah dude, people progress at different speeds.

see i've been skating for just about a year now, and i can do some pretty hard tricks, but i can't do anything switch.

where as kids who have been skating less time than i have, can already switch ollie and switch 180 and stuff.

you learn some things quicker and/or slower than others dude.

plus the rough part is the beginning, after you learn a few more tricks and get good at them, learning other tricks is easier.

for example if you can kickflip really easily, learning a double flip will be simple.
take your time don't stress it dude

You sound a little envious of him man...

Dont take it so seriously, (as everyone else said) have fun, and you will start to progress more and more
