Default The guy in Vans shop.

me- so what's the best shoes for skating?

shop assistant- we don't reccomend you skate in Vans, we're more of a fashion brand.

Judging by my pair I've had for 3 weeks, I agree (stitching coming undone by laces).

    Discuss..

That's awesome that they'd just say that. Instead of just trying to sell you a pair of crap shoes.

My Crail vans aren't lasting long at all. Only about a month. I got them on sale for 40 But their the only skate shoe that fit's and feels confertable to me. Theres hardly and shops that sell real skate shoes around here. Just vans off the wall, World industries, And Etnies once in a blue moon.

there are plenty of awesome vans that will hold up for skating (authentics are not one of them - they are more fashion, but people love to skate in)
as beard said, dude is a kook.

i've never had good luck with vans...the soles wear smooth really quickly, and i can't keep traction on the griptape.

The original Rowleys were some of the best shoes i've ever skated in. the rowley 2 was pretty good as well. right now i'm rockin' a pair of the "la cripta dos" and they're doing okay

Some Vans are good to skate with and some aren't. Well actually most Vans all skate real good, just some last longer than others. Like the Eras wouldn't last you very long. But something like the Half-Cab is gonna last a while.
I hate when somebody says that, oh this company has shoes that arent good or wear down easy. Like, not every shoe that a company makes is the same. It varies from shoe to shoe.
