Default April Member of the Month - Jesushadherpes!

You guys voted, you guys asked the questions. Now here's the answers. Jesushadherpes, our beloved member, spills his guts on everything from his disapproval of Dwindle to his favorite music. I had fun conducting this interview, and I hope you have a good time reading it. Without further ado, we delve into the man behind the name.

How did you find Skaterscafe and what keeps you coming back?

Umm lets see well i first found skaterscafe from some link off SKATENC.com and just came here for the Charlotte, Nc locals page. At first i hated it because of the rules and am glad the almighty Dogtown didint ban me back then but then realized that that without the rules this forum wouldnt be what it is. As for why i keep coming to skaterscafe i guess its just because it seems like it functions really well and everyone seems geta along and just has fun. Im not into the whole obsessive internet forum myspace crap, i only belong to 2 forums so you Skaterscafe folks should feel honored, hah jus playin.

Where did you get the idea for your username?

I dunno i thought of it a couple yers ago and i just liked it because of all the responses it provoked from people who dont even know me. I like teh uniqueness about it i mean search google for jesushadherpes and see if anyone besides me comes up.
How did you start skateboarding and why have you continued?
Well, i started skating because my best friedns were into it and i rode the bus home form school then had to walk awhile to my house, So i figured at skateboard would be a good idea. Then i dunno i just fell in love right then and its never stopped.

What is skateboarding to you?

Freedom. Just complete freedom. SKateboarding provides a passageway into bliss.

What?s your favorite trick to pop?

My favorite trick to pop is definitly Fs Flips. The thing with me if i dont like a trick then i wont try to learn it or do it. I only do trick i enjoy which is kinda of a disadvantage but who cares its about having fun.

What current skaters are you stoked on?

Man Brent Atchley his style is so fluid its refreshign to see people who look like there just out skating having fun. I was really pysched about the recent return of Guy Mariano same with Sean Sheffey. My favorite skater is Tom Penny though i mean no one can even come close to him. NO ONE!

You obviously detest dwindle...care to enlighten some members on why they're bad?

Well first they moved production to China for the sole purpose of making more money. They use inferior wood with cheaper labor which itself is bad enough. Then they can sell the boards they make cheaper than all other board companies because its masde in China putting other companies at a huge disadvantage....rodney should be ashamed of himself.

What do you think about the current state of skateboarding?

Its just crazy everything is getting bigger, longer and more dangerous. I really believe style is more important than how many stairs you can kickflip but then again ryan sheckler proabably get paids 10x more than brian wenning.

If you had a pro shoe model for your favorite shoe co what company would it be with and what colorway would you have!?

Wow. Itd be a toss-up between Nike or Ipath. With Ipath i would just make some all LEATHER rasta grasshoppers and its be perfect. For nike i would completly customize a shoe that would be like the style of dunk high but with the innovation and technology of the zoom tre's. Green base color shoe with bright yellow swoosh and toe cap with red tags, logos, insole and bottom.

What hip hop artist do you enjoy listening to the most? Also what other music do you like? Can you refer me to some good/chill reggae/chronic music?

The raw words and beats of Three Six Mafia. the first real hip album i heard was Dr.Dre "The Chronic" i was on vacation with my mom and her friends family when i was like 9 and her friends daughter was older like 15. Me being the 9 year old pimp i was i became her friend and hung out with her and she let me listen to that cd and i loved it.
Most of all the music i listen to is hip-hop or reggae but then i also enjoy classical rock like The Doors or somethin.
My Chronic playlist includes- Obviously Bob Marley, Damian"Jr Gong" Marley, Israel Vibration, Dub Access, Sizzla, Capleton, The Fugees, and also Sublime does some killer covers of Bob Marley songs.

<embed width="352" height="308" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://vid73.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid73.photobucket.com/albums/i220/jesushadherpes/slowdownhardflip.flv"></embed>

If you were in a band, what would it be called?
In middle school i was in a joke band called "Preperation Hate". It wasnt really like a real band or serious or anything it was just a few friends messing around. I thought it was great name or album was gonna be called "Hipsters from Outer Space"

Who were you hoping to win MOM, no including yourself?

I didnt vote on the last one and tried to not look even look at it. I figured i didnt really have a chance and when i looked at it and i was damn im wining thats crazy. I think Necro should hes done aton of work for things connected to the cafe

What are your political beliefs?

Haha i get all my political beliefs from Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, and Bill Maher.

Who are your biggest heroes and influences?

Really just anyone who makes a living doing what they love but lately ive been reading alot about Alexander Shulgin and admiring his life work. Im sure ive been influenced by alot of people around me and i just dont realize it. The whole SAtori teams inspires me to skate for the right reasons.

How do you contribute to Skaterscafe and how will you continue to make it better?

I just like to think that i bring my own unique opnions to the cafe and try to present an alternative view on things.

What's the #1 goal in your future?

Graduate high school go to college and study sociology.

What is your favorite movie?

Favorite.. proabably "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". I like movies with meaning tho like "Requiem for a Dream","Kids", "City of God", "21 Grams", "American History X", "A Clockwork Orange" i dunno stuff like that.

If you had two months to do anything you want, with money not stopping you, what would you do?

Fund a commercial to counter all those truth.com or abovetheinfluence ones and show the truth about marijuana. Im so tired of seeing those commercials and wish i could just make one about the REAL truth. OH yeah i would also move to Amsterdam open up a huge CAnnabis CAfe with a giant SKAteshop built in. Build the perfect miniramp inside, donate like 100 million dollars to the Juevinile Diabetes REsearch Fund, Buy a new CL65 AMG Mercedes all black with completly tinted windows and black rims, Somehow make Tom Penny and ALexander Shulgin be my neighbors and sponsor SKATERSCAFE of course.

If you had the admin power of the Cafe for a week, what would you do, what new categories would you create, which spammers would you ban, warn, etc?. And what other admin jobs would you take care of?

Make all you cheapasses pay a dollar to get in the site and use it to send Dogtown like a 20 foot high thank you card containing the whole skaterscafe member list.

Do you have any favorite members on the site?

I heart Fremry. I enjoy Deaf posts because he seems knowledgable in the same field i am. I like FcGB humour, Lukas C is chill, Rustynail is cool, oh damn Khukmouff too and the Nc locals. I hate these questions i never remember everyone then feel like an ass for leaving people out.

Any shout outs before we end the interview?

All the charlotte heads, FLO crew, 704 guys(RIP PK),skatenc, my Dog, and every skateboarder who keeps it real. One Love

I too get my political beliefs from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert... and my dad has a degree in sociology. Weird. Good read.

That was actually an amazing interview, one of the best I have read. Also, that little clip in there, looked like a hardflip I think? It was amazing though. Congrats on winning Member of the Month JHH!
