Welcome to the forum!!.....noobking. That's an amazing park you've got over there at Brook Run!! You should post some pics of the park for us. I've been there, but havent' skated. I think it's probably a little too extreme in the bowls for me. I always skate Picnicville in Gwinett:

Dude, I love this thread.

I remember my first pool. I was like 7 or 8.
We went to a Hotel in Midland Texas where I lived for about 10 years.
We had to scoop out the water and use old towels and rags to soak up the water. One kid had the bright idea to use a foam mattress to do it faster.

First thing we all tried to do was go over the light. Then it was try to touch the edge with our wheel.

Soon after that we found a old closed down water park that we used to sneak into late at night and skate the pools there. We would ride our boards down the water slides since there was no water. Some kids even stole big wheels and rode them down the water slides.

After we got back to SoCal (Santa Ana), we found pools all over. We looked for houses for sale or abandoned. When we figured out that Vision was like right down the street, we used to go watch them skate in the warehouse. They also had what we called the RoboRamp. It was a trailer that folded out to make a sweet 4' or 6' ramp.

SoCal was the most awesome place to be a teenager. When I was 15 I stared dating my wife and worked at McDonalds and went to like four dif schools in Orange County. Santa Ana valley, Santa Ana, Tustin, Hillview and some other "Alternative" school.

To pay tribut to those good old day I even have old school size and shape options in our Skateboard lines.
After I make 15 posts I can put a pic of what I mean.

That must have been quite a life for a kid, worshiploud!!!!.......I envy you big time! Where I grew up, hardly anybody knew what a swimming pool was...much less a skateboard. The only swimming pool in town was at the public park, and nobody had even thought about rounded ones...they were all perfect rectangles. We played tennis on red clay courts and fished the local ponds. We only thought we were having fun. You guys were in heaven!

@dino.....those pics are amazing!!!!!!

If we only knew what it was all going to turn into we wouldn't have taken it for granted.

Maybe I beat you up.
Did you go to school with Ray Barbee too?

And here is my tribute to old school.

If that wasn't Ray Barbee, He sure did skate, dress, act and talk like him.
And his name was Ray.

I can remember last name Barbee...

He was born in San Jose.

His Bio said he went to Leigh.

If he did go to Tustin then there was this guy calling himself Ray Barbee who skated just like Ray Barbee.

Would suck if this kid wasn't Ray Barbee and never took credit for skating so good.

I went to high school in Tustin but finished up in San Jose. Perhaps Barbee did the reverse.

I started out in Midland, TX then Santa Ana HS, Santa Ana Valley, Tustin, Red Hill, Then two alternative schools before I took the college entrance exam and started college at 16.

So I wasn't there very long.
